From the information contained in Zbigniew Parafianovich's book, representatives of the Government of Law and Justice (Script) agreed to place the commemoration of the Upowce group on peculiar plaques, presenting them as fighting for “free Ukraine”. However, the local authorities did not agree to this initiative.

On Monday, fragments of the book “Poland on War” by Zbigniew Parafianowicz appeared on social media, which show that diplomats from the PiS government accepted the thought of commemorating the Upowce group on peculiar boards, presenting them as fighting for “free Ukraine”. This refers to the context of preparations for the celebration of the 80th anniversary of Bloody Sunday in Volyn, where the author quotes an anonymous diplomat.

“Equally for everything there were preparations for the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Volyn massacre. The government line was followed by talks about a plaque commemorating possibly sixteen uppers who died somewhere in the area of Rzeszów. There were expected to be names and signs that these uptors died for free Ukraine” - We read.

From a part of the book published on social media, we learn that “This plaque was part of a historical compromise with Kiev”. “It was to be set in the summer. The deadline has not been specified. Meanwhile, local authorities did not agree to it" – adds the author of the statement. However, he did not indicate precisely which local authorities were involved.

“There is nothing on the board that Morawiecki government was dating Ukrainians. We gotta admit honestly that we did any horsebacking before the celebration of Volyn's anniversary” – states the alleged diplomat.

“The Ukrainians said we were cheating them. They unblocked the issue of the exhumation of Polish victims of slaughter even before the anniversary celebrations" – he further states the origin of the book, suggesting that there were exhumations, which is not true.

“It is foolish to say, but they kept their word at this stage. We don't. tiny things start. possibly you shouldn't have dated him erstwhile we weren't certain the Reichs would agree to the board. due to the fact that honestly, we were not sure... It seemed acceptable to us. Those names weren't criminals. Just the upers who fought for their country“ He continues.

In this context, it is worth recalling that in June this year Anton Drobowycz, the head of the Ukrainian IPN, declared that until the Polish side undertakes the renovation of the OUN-UPA commemorative facility on Mount Monastyrz and does not begin to renew another facilities of this kind in Poland, he will not consent to the search and exhumation of the remains of murdered Poles.

We remind that just before the visit of Andrzej Duda in Ukraine in October 2020, the OUN-UPA gravestone plaque was renovated on Mount Monastyrz. However, the fresh board does not include the names of the members of the CNS-UPA and the inscription “They died for free Ukraine”. Earlier, the president of Poland assured Volodymyr Zelenski that the substance would be settled by the time of their autumn meeting. In September 2020, Zelenski demanded the renewal of the OUN-UPA gravestone monument on Mount Monastyr and his listing of war graves. Despite the renovation of the plaque, the Ukrainian side was not satisfied, demanding the restoration of the first inscriptions and threatening to keep the ban on the work of the search and recognition agency specialists in Ukraine. Later, in connection with the alleged email scandal, it was revealed that the Freedom and Democracy Foundation associated with the ruling camp acted to renew the plaque on a memorial commemorating UPA on Mount Monastyr. The President's and the MFA's office hoped this would happen before the President's authoritative visit to Kiev, in consequence to force from Ukraine at the highest level.
