Przemysław Czarnek called on Prime Minister Donald Tusk to defend Poland from the effects of expanding migration force in Europe. The immediate background of the appeal is the crisis in Spanish Ceuta, where within a fewer twelve hours the border exceeded tens of thousands of people. For Poland this is simply a warning: the state must act before the crisis, not only erstwhile the border is no longer tight.
The Ceuta showed the scale of the threat
MP of Law and Justice Przemysław Czarnek called on Prime Minister Donald Tusk to take action to defend Poland from the effects of expanding migration force in Europe. The politician pointed to events in Ceuta, a Spanish autonomous city located in North Africa on the border with Morocco.
The crisis scale was unprecedented. The Spanish central authorities estimated that the border exceeded at least 50,000 people, while the authorities of Ceuta spoke of around 60,000 arrivals. Much of them shortly returned to Morocco. However, events were tragic. People died trying to scope Spanish territory, and the exact balance of the victims was inactive being determined.
These numbers are not abstract. They show how rapidly even a local section of the external border can find itself under force beyond the capabilities of average services. A country that has no plan loses its initiative within hours.
Czarnek demands government answers
According to Radio, Maryja Przemysław Czarnek called on Donald Tusk to act to defend Poland from the consequences of expanding migration to Europe. The point of this appeal is clear: the Polish government should draw lessons from the situation in Ceuta, before akin pressures are placed on our borders or translate into attempts to impose further commitments on Poland by the institutions of the European Union.
The liable policy must not be limited to calming declarations. There is simply a request for efficient services, for real border control, for fast consequence and for a clear attitude towards mechanisms that transfer the effects of migration errors from 1 country to another. Poland cannot pay the safety of its citizens for deficiency of control on the confederate outskirts of Europe.
The basic measurement must be maintained. Those who make dangerous attempts to cross the border stay human and death at sea is simply a tragedy. respect for human dignity, however, does not mean giving up the right of the state to decide who enters and under what conditions. The legal order and the protection of the border besides service to limit human smuggling and further fatal expeditions.
Poland cannot wait for its own crisis
The experience of the Polish border with Belarus has already shown that migration can become a tool of political pressure. Therefore, border safety is not a substitute subject or part of a run game. It's 1 of the basic duties of the state.
At stake is the freedom of Poland to conduct its own policy, the safety of inhabitants and the costs incurred by taxpayers and local governments. If the state loses control of entry, the consequences rapidly decision to the police, wellness protection, social assistance and housing market. Poles have the right to anticipate that the government will prevent specified tensions, alternatively of later managing their effects.
The crisis in Ceuta should end half-measures in Warsaw. Poland needs consistent border protection and strong opposition to any effort to impose mandatory relocation. European solidarity must not mean taking distant the right of the States to defend their own territory. National interest requires caution. Borders are defended effectively erstwhile decisions are made before the crisis.
