Pion: Referendum on cancellation of mayor invalid

A referendum on Sunday on the dismissal of the mayor of Pionek (Mazovia province) is invalid. The vote was not enough, which means that Łukasz Miśkiewicz will proceed to lead the city.

According to the delegation of the National Election Office in Radom, 1273 voters went to the polls. For the referendum to be valid, at least 3934 people (3/5 of the number of voters who participated in the election of the mayor in 2024) were required.

Łukasz Miśkiewicz is 39 years old, is simply a lawyer, lives in Pionki. In the municipal election of 2024 he ran from his own committee. In the second round, winning over 400 votes more, he defeated then mayor Robert Kowalczyk.
