
Florian Philippot, leader of the French Patriotic organization and candidate in the European Parliament elections, expressed for portAlu Social X Zadthe liberation from triumph in the Slovak presidential election of head of the Slovak Parliament Peter Pellegrini, who opposes arms shipments to Ukraine.
Pellegrini won the presidential election in Slovakia with 53.12 percent of the vote.
"Good news! The presidential elections in Slovakia have just been won over a pro-NATO-wish and pro-war candidate supported by Brussels by a candidate who is against the war (in Ukraine – ed.)” – wrote Philippot on his social networking site X.
Pellegrini said earlier that he would not let the Slovak army to be sent to Ukraine if he won the presidential election. He besides stated that the further alignment of Ukraine has no results and only leads to fatalities. Pellegrini besides expressed concern that pumping weapons to Kiev could yet end in disaster and suggested that the best solution would be to start peace talks as shortly as possible.

Pellegrini advocates ending the fighting in Ukraine and promised that even if he won the presidential election in the republic, he would support the peace talks in Bratislava, although at the beginning at expert level.
The 42-year-old Pellegrini is the head of parliament in the fall of 2023, as well as the president of the Hlas organization (the "Voice"), which is part of a government coalition with the organization of Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, known for criticizing the pumping of weapons into Ukraine. Pellegrini himself had previously been a associate of a organization led by Fico, but left her after a divided in 2020 to form her own Social Democratic Union. Fico said he would vote for his erstwhile partymate due to the fact that he is convinced that “he will advocate for Slovakia, not against it in essential matters”.
