Retirement depends on many factors. However, not everyone realises that 1 of them is the minute erstwhile pension position is granted. These June pensions specifically concern people who were born after 1948 and retired from 2009-2019, submitting an application in June. Due to the provisions in force at the time, their provision was much lower than their peers in erstwhile months. How is that possible?

We already wrote about the problem of June pensions last November. Let us remind you that this difference in benefits is linked to the 1999 pension reform, which introduced a fresh pension dimension algorithm. Under these provisions, the yearly weighting rate was utilized for pensioners erstwhile calculating the benefit. In April and May, however, the quarterly valorisation rate was used, which was usually much more favourable to the future recipient. This situation changed in 2021 due to the amendment reducing this imbalance, but by that time 11 years had already received importantly lower pensions. Now it's about to change.

The bill, which the government is presently working on, is intended to give the pensioners the chance to "June" recalculate benefits. If it turns out that the ratio of valorisation from May of a given year is more favourable for the insured person, the benefit will be increased. The Infor portal underlines that this applies to both pensions and household pensions granted in 2009-2019. The amount of the survivor’s pension would then be valued on the terms applicable after the date of the pension. The bill is due to enter into force on 1 July 2025. From this point on, the recipients will have six months to submit an application which the Social Insurance Institution will consider within 60 days. The fresh higher amount will be due from the period of submission of the application. However, there is besides worse news.

So far there has been news in the media that "June" pensioners will besides be able to number on equalising benefits paid in past years. Unfortunately, it turns out there's no way.
