The Kombatant's home in Paris – had a fashion to annihilate national cultures in Europe, for which they fought so hard, the planet War II veterans. In Paris, in the heart of European culture, the Kombatant home struggles to last by defending itself against “the robbers of goods that did not make it, but simply to make an enemy takeover, not to conduct the business for which it was purchased, but only to cash in the property.
The palace, later called the Kombatanta House, is located in Paris, in the elegant 17th territory of this city. It was purchased by erstwhile Polish Combatants, i.e. soldiers of the Second planet War, coming primarily from the celebrated Second Corps commanded by General Władysław Anders.
On 18 May 2024, the 80th Anniversary passed, erstwhile the officers and soldiers of the Second Corps eventually, victoriously breached the mined vertical wall of Monte Cassino hill on tops, which was 1 of the oldest monasteries in Europe, a monastery owned by Benedictine Fathers. The monastery and surrounding hills belonged to the alleged Gustaw Line – a defensive complex, never gained since Roman times.
It will not be an exaggeration to say that this unique triumph came after the Gustaw line was forced by the American, British, fresh Zealand, Indian, French, Moroccan, Algerian armies. After all, Allied commander, British, General Alexander lost hope of victory. The mission, not captured over 2,000 years of fortifications, was put into the hands of a Polish soldier, under General Anders, the Second Corps.
We're not talking about victims here. We say that the heroic, unique Soldier of Poland won what was considered “unable”. These people surely had a perfect knowing of what is crucial for keeping national consciousness and cultivating the desire for national and individual freedom.
After the end of planet War II, i.e. after 1945, many officers and soldiers from the Second Corps and another groups of the Polish Army in Refugees made the decision to temporarily stay on emigration in fear of arrests and imprisonment in Poland handed down by their earlier allies, Americans and British primarily, to the communist leader of the russian Union, Józef Stalin.
Many of those heroic soldiers who love Homeland and Freedom beyond their own lives, they considered this a transitional state. Therefore, they very rightly decided to acquisition the palace, in the centre of Paris, as Kombatant House, or real property base, in order to systematically meet, advance the thought of freedom for Poland and for themselves and their children.
They proved their right to freedom; their immense blood donation, made in a fight against the 3rd Reich, alongside the Allied. Another measurable motive and right to have a sovereign state was large Polish culture, advanced ethical level, and deep belief in the Christian and Latin roots of its culture. Remember, this culture and even Latin civilization are based, among another things, on a powerful syndrome of love and individual and national freedoms.
Polish soldiers, for the last six years of ongoing war struggles, have become accustomed to military lifestyles, which included meetings, in military casinos, where they met colleagues, exchanged information from the country, from Britain, America, from the world. With Poles from “lags”, concentration camps and refugees, from communist Poland. So it was essential to have a place that in the future could become “Academy, or Forge for the liberation of Poland”.
In the future Kombatant's House, it was intended to collect souvenirs from the lives of military units; uniforms, banners from battles in which they participated, German garnered banners, military books, allowances, cancellations, distinctions, letters and postcards written throughout the war to the household in Poland and received from the household in Poland. Tens, even hundreds of awards, awards. Holy pictures, ryngraphs, medals, crosses saving lives for many on the front line, cigaret cases, wedding rings. Guns, missiles, bullet casings, knives, bayonets, belts, holsters and tens, or possibly hundreds of specified souvenirs.
Kombatant's home in Paris
This place was purchased by Polish Veterans of the Second War, in 1948, in the 17th, very prestigious territory of Paris. At the time, France's real property law did not let foreigners to buy specified property. To get out of this awkward position, this property was purchased by alleged “trustors”. Eventually, real property law changed and thanks to the initiative of General Władysław Anders, the home of the Association of Polish Kombatants and their Families was purchased from funds derived from contributions of soldiers of the Polish Army and donated by the Government in exile to service the communists and political refugees, among others as a simplification in the fight against communism.
The palace, or historical five-story tenement house, which houses the Kombatant House, was valued (market value) at around EUR 30 million in 2020, was and is the seat, of many Polish associations and schools, and the Parish of Divine Mercy (Priest Hedgehog, played a large function in maintaining and restoring the Kombatant House) and to this day it is the only centre centralizing Polish life of Poles and French people of Polish origin from various waves of emigration and various social backgrounds.
We know the importance of Polish schools providing children with cognition of the language of the Fathers, which is the key to Polish culture and learning. Yes, the first Polish School was established in this building in 1948. Since then, various classes of Polish schools have been held here until now.
There are regularly organized here: historical, political, social, philosophical, theological lectures, from the past of Polish weapons as well as French language lessons for Poles. National Anniversary celebrations, concerts, poetic performances, movie screenings, dance nights, classical dances and Polish folk dances are organized here. In fresh years, legal advice and catechical courses have even appeared.
In the Kombatanta House, Polonia Polska hosted prominent representatives of Polish culture, Polish science, politicians. I personally attended the invitation of the Polish community with both the lecture and the promotion of my books. all time I was there, I was thrilled.

In 1999, captain Kazimierz Michałowski, a veteran of the Second planet War, in an appeal addressed to Kombatant home Trustees, said:
"The home is not commercial property – it is not treated as a average commodity for sale. The home is to stay as a Monument and a Alive Symbol, where the memory of the Soldiers who gave their lives for Homeland Freedom will be nurtured. All those who influence the destiny of the home are accountable to Historia and the Seed.”
