
The Finns, then Belgians, Austrians, Romania and Slovenians are the most happy of life. Poles followed them – this is the consequence of a survey of satisfaction among the people of the European Union. At the another end of the ranking were Bulgarians, Latvians and Greeks.
The most happy of life are Finnish residents (7,8 points out of 10 possible) and then – Belgium, Austria, Romania and Slovenia (by 7,7 points) – according to data for 2023 published by Eurostat, which examined the level of satisfaction among residents European Union.
Right behind them. Poland – with 7.6 points – together with Ireland and the Netherlands.
At the another end of the scale in terms of declared life satisfaction The Bulgarians are in. (5,9 points), Latvian and Greek (after 6.9 points). Mean to The European Union was 7.3 points.
In 2023, the average life conviction rating in the EU was 7.3 on a scale from 0 to 10.

In all countries but Bulgaria mean life satisfaction was higher than 6 points, which means that the majority of EU residents declared alternatively contentment than discontent.
Compared to 2022, the largest increase was recorded in Germany (0.5 points and 7). In turn, in 5 countries there was a decrease: Austria (by 0.2 points) and Denmark, Finland, Netherlands and Poland (by 0.1 points).

Eurostat assessed the satisfaction of life with a 10-point scale, where 0 means ‘very unhappy’ and 10 ‘very satisfied’.
Eurostat stated that many factors can affect life’s satisfaction, specified as age, educational level, household and financial situation, as well as a variety of experiences, choices, priorities, or a hierarchy of the person's value.
