Opening of the outdoor exhibition “Under the Missionary Flag”

On the eve of the Navy's Day, 27 November, in front of the office of the Veteran Centre for Activities outside the State Borders (ul. Puławska 6a) a peculiar exhibition devoted to military missions with the participation of Polish sailors will be held.

The exhibition “Under the Missionary Flag” is the latest outdoor exhibition prepared by the Veteran Center Education and Tradition Team, in cooperation with veterans and mission participants. It consists of 16 boards showing the activities of the Navy's separate units carried out regularly for years as part of missions abroad. The exhibition was placed on a barrier in front of the Veteran Centre at ul. Puławska 6a in Warsaw.

As the manager of the Veteran Centre, Colonel Dr. Katarzyna Radziewska, emphasizes, the exhibition is another exhibition prepared by the Veteran Centre. - Earlier, we presented, among another things, the past of the presence of Polish soldiers in Afghanistan and an exhibition dedicated to the Order of the Military Cross, in which we presented bachelors of this crucial distinction. We're trying to choice topics applicable to the veteran community. I believe that the current exposition fits well in this direction and will let us to learn more about another crucial area of mission outside the country.

The exhibition presents the participation of the Polish Navy in abroad military operations and missions, in which Polish sailors have played a crucial function in missions under the flag of the United Nations, NATO and the European Union for decades. The exhibition presents both circumstantial missions and regular service of our ships as part of global alliance commitments. It is not only a presentation of information about military activities, but besides a tribute to everyone
sailors who defender peace and safety abroad.

The exhibition boards include information on NATO operations specified as Active Endeavour and activities within NATO's permanent naval teams – the backbone of the Alliance's fast consequence forces. The boards besides showed the participation of the Navy in EU missions to the confederate flank of the continent, including PKW Sophia and PKW Irini under EUNAVFOR MED.

The beginning ceremony is scheduled for 27 November (Thursday) – on the eve of the Navy.
The exhibition is available to all visitors and provides an excellent chance to learn more about the function of Polish sailors participating in global activities.
