Soldiers of the Territorial Defence Army active in Operation Horizon are equipped with weapons and ammunition, as they execute tasks resulting from decisions of the state authorities and the applicable laws - the WOT press spokesperson reported on social media today.
The Territorials operate under Article 18 of the Police Act, according to which they have the same powers as police officers erstwhile helping to defend critical infrastructure. If the situation so requires, among others, they may apply direct coercion measures, including the usage of firearms, identify or detain persons.
