On 1 September, a regulation entered into force by the Minister Barbara Nowacka introducing a fresh subject “health education”. In fact, these are 2 subjects: compulsory wellness education and optional "health education – sexual health".
In the erstwhile school year, as many as 70 percent of students enrolled from these classes. In any cities attendance decreased even lower, as in Rzeszów it was only 14.5 percent. Despite specified clear opposition from parents, the ministry removed the "education to life in the family" (WEDZ), which implemented the 1993 statutory evidence on the transfer of cognition about the sexual life of a person, principles of conscious and liable parenthood, values of a family, conceived life and methods of conscious procreation.
The Minister of Sexuality has transferred the content to an optional subject, carried out only 1-3 hours in the full school year. It's an apparent message of respect for parents' rights. In fact, sexuality is removed from the context of family, love and marriage, and placed exclusively in the basket of “health”. alternatively of raising to liable love and parenting, there is simply a communicative in which consent and safety are sufficient.
Sexuality is not just a substance of biological health. It is designed to be realized in marriage, in faithful, responsible, and open to life. Reducing it to “security and consent” deprives children of deeper meaning and moral reference.
On what legal basis can a kid be discharged?
Pursuant to § 5 of the Regulation of the Minister of Education of 17 July 2026 (Journal of Laws, item 966), underage students do not take part in classes "health education – sexual health" if their parents or legal guardians notify the school head in writing. An adult may resign on his own. Classes shall not be evaluated and shall not affect the promotion or completion of school.
Therefore, as part of our initiative, we have prepared a ready-made message to download, from which each parent can usage to discharge the kid from these classes.
We encourage you to take 3 concrete steps:
- Exit of the kid from an optional module (ready-to-take statement).
- Talks to the manager and teacher about the form of these classes.
- Talking to your kid about puberty, relationships, matrimony and household in a spirit of love, truth, work and Christian values.
It is the parents, not the state, who bear the first and most crucial work for raising children.
