The last day of the European athletic championship brought Poland another medal. The silver disc was won by Claudia Kazimierska in the 1500 m run. Finally, Polish representatives ended their rivalry with 8 discs – six silver and 2 brown ones.
This means that there was no gold again – British female Georgia huntsman Bell, who gained 4:07.78 in the 1500 m Kazimierska run. Kazimierska lost 1.02 pp. The 3rd was Portuguese Patricia Silva (4:09,22). The ninth place was taken by the second of Poles, Weronika Lizakowska – 4:11.81.
For Włocławek, who has been training in the USA for respective years, the Kazimierzska silver in Birmingham is the first elder medal of the event of the highest rank.
Poland's full achievements at the Birmingham Championships are 8 medals: Kazimierska silver, Katarzyna Zdziebło, Pia Skrzyszowska, Ewa Swolboda, Natalia Bukowicka and Maria Żodzik, and Jakub Szymański bronze and women's 4×100 m relay.
