The public service eagle is distinguished by soldiers or uniformed officers who showed courage in saving others. The prize designers want to symbolically thank them. The first winner was Kom. Andrzej Żuławski, who saved the boy drifting on a mattress in the bay in Rewa. 3 military men were besides nominated for the Eagle.
Early in 2024, the initiators of the civilian Service Eagle Award, “Grown With Us” Foundation and portal Defence24.pl, announced the competition, which was received respective twelve applications from military organizational units, police, fire brigade and border guard. Behind each of them was a communicative of saving someone's life, of selfless aid and sacrifice. “The chapter of the award did not have an easy task,” said Magdalena Pawlak, president of the Foundation’s Board. – We have long wondered how to thank all those who put their wellness and their lives at hazard all day to defend us. Those who put the common good before individual interest and fear, for whom honor and courage are life signs. An expression of symbolic thanks to soldiers, officers and employees of all public services is the Public Service Eagle Award, explains Pawlak. The first Eagle of the Public Service went to Kom. Andrzej Żuławski. He saved an 11-year-old in the autism spectrum, which drifted on a mattress about 300 m from shore in the waters of the Gulf of Rewa. The strong wind and advanced waves made the boy incapable to scope shore. The commissioner sailed to him and towed him to shore. He besides helped his exhausted father get out of the water.
Three soldiers in the final

In September 2023, during the "Compact Destination ’23" exercise, they drove towards Drawski Pomorskie. In Konotop, they hit a road accident – the bus collided with a truck. The overturned truck lay in a ditch, and on the another side of the road stood a broken bus that carried the students. The soldiers managed to open the door adequate to get all 20 passengers out. Before the paramedics arrived, they gave the injured first aid.
– We were amazed by the nomination for this award – they admit according to the scale. Maciej Madaj and Robert Pich. They don't think they're heroes. They claim that they simply rescued victims in a traffic accident. – We wear uniforms with a white-red flag, we had to respond – emphasizes the scale. Maciej Madaj. For their exemplary attitude, Colonel Krzysztof Dąbkiewicz thanked them for the battalion's commander during the assembly of the wards and indicated that a soldier is simply a soldier, not a man. The soldiers besides received a discrimination from the Minister of National Defence and the Memorial Medal of the Corps of Private Professional Land Forces.
There was besides spit in the final. Roman Wesołowski of the 5th Engineering Regiment of Szczecin, who rescued a female from a burning building with the hazard of his own life. The officer assures us that he does not feel a hero, but admits that he was glad that individual saw him and reported him to the Public Service Eagle.

The guests gathered at the gala not only applauded the winner of the award, but besides participated in a charity auction, during which items handed down by the President, Prime Minister, talker of the Sejm and Minister of National Defence were auctioned. The collected almost PLN 200 1000 was transferred to the beneficiaries of the Foundation “Grown With Us”. But that is not the end. The “Grown With Us” Foundation has been caring for children of fallen firefighters, soldiers, policemen and mountain rescuers for 14 years, who died in the ministry. The Foundation supports the education of their children until 25. So far, she has taken care of over 300 children.
