Ordo Iuris: A worthy burial or... contempt for life?
date:November 02, 2023 Editor: Anna

The first days of November are in our culture the period in which we remember our loved ones, visiting their burial sites and lighting candles on their graves. It is besides a time of reflection and reflection on the fragility and beauty of human life.
We want to encourage you to reflect on the tiny graves that can be found in many cemeteries throughout Poland. They include not only graves of several-year-old children or those who died a fewer days or weeks after birth, but besides unborn children – those who have never had the chance to come into the world, but inactive stay in their parents' memory.
Inflammation at specified a grave will be a testament to respect for human life in times erstwhile media, politicians and even global organizations are trying to convince us that man before birth is just a cluster of cells. Prayer in specified a place will be a clear sign of opposition to propagandaabortionists who encourage killing specified children.

In December 2020, while there was inactive an echo of vulgar pro-abortion demonstrations in Poland after the Constitutional Court's ruling on eugenic abortion, Garwolin's largest mass ceremony of unborn children took place in Gończych close Europe. Thanks to the efforts of our friend Maria Bienkiewicz and with the support of lawyers Ordo Iuris, 650 children were buried in the local cemetery. Bodies came from abortions and spontaneous abortions, which occurred in Warsaw hospitals. any children waited for a ceremony even... 7 years.

How is that possible?

Years of abortional propaganda and dehumanization of unborn children have done their part – many parents do not know or do not want to know that the aborted kid is the same man as each of us and, like each of us, has the right to a dignified burial. As a result, hospitals frequently treat tiny bodies as medical waste, and their corpses are desecrated. The lawyers of the Ordo Iuris Institute intervened even in cases where hospitals informed their parents that the child's body had been lost somewhere and his burial would not be possible at all.

Parents can always number on our help. On our website, we supply free of charge a peculiar legal guide for the parents of lost children, in which we explain in an accessible way how parents can exercise their rights and refute myths about the burials of lost children. We besides supply free legal assistance erstwhile parents have any difficulties or questions. We intervene in hospitals, in offices, we convince the Social safety Office to cover the costs of genetic investigating of children who died before birth. Finally, we prove to insurers that their policies include unborn children.

Our many years of work has been working, due to the fact that today, parents are coming to us little and little often, complaining about absolute ignorance and deficiency of any sensitivity and respect for the bodies of unborn children.

This is 1 of the crucial aspects of building a civilization of life, which St. John Paul II spoke about.

Unfortunately, we are presently dealing with a real civilian war. While we are fighting for the respect and dignity of all human life – global lobbyists "civilizing death" are fighting for the powerful money they gain from human death and dehumanization of man – on abortion, euthanasia and surrogacy. The effects of their lobbying and implementing their ideology are frightening.

Recently, media coverage of the destiny of 36-year-old Alexina from Belgium, who asked for euthanasia due to cancer, went on. The woman, however, was given besides small poison. Therefore, the doctor and 2 nurses completed their “works” by... strangling with a pillow. This situation shows 1 thing – the goal of euthanasia is not to "decent death" at all, but to get free of a man who is an unnecessary ballast and a financial burden for the society of utilitarian nihilists.

This is not hidden by Canadians who no longer want to support mentally sick people and propose to "enhance the right to euthanasia", which is besides to be enjoyed by people who are mentally sick and addicted to psychoactive substances. Recently, there was besides a case of a paralysed Canadian war veteran who needed an elevator to facilitate wheelchair movement, but erstwhile she requested aid from a social worker, she heard from him that... possibly she should think of euthanasia.

We must establish a dam to advance criminal ideology of death in Poland. Public opinion polls indicate that support for euthanasia among Poles is steadily increasing. According to CBOS public opinion polls conducted in 2005-2021, in 2005, only 18% of respondents considered euthanasia to be morally positive, while in 2021, affirmative ratings were almost twice as advanced as 34%.

And the real promotion run of euthanasia in Poland is just ahead of us.

Since Friday, Polish cinemas will be able to watch the euthanizing movie “Lęk”, which was created not only with the support of the Polish movie Institute, but besides with the funds of the Council of Europe, the Polish-German movie Fund and the German Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung, Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg and FFA Filmforderungsanstalt.

We must be ready for the public debate on the legalisation of euthanasia which begins in Poland. Especially since in the coming weeks the authorities will most likely include parties in Poland, who talk straight about support for euthanasia. The Green organization belonging to the Civic Coalition entered the legalization of euthanasia into its electoral programme. We can anticipate the Left to support her in this too.

As the Ordo Iuris Institute, we have been talking for years about what the legalization of euthanasia in western Europe has led to. Last year we published a comprehensive study in which we analysed the law in force in 16 European countries. In cooperation with Collegium Intermarium, we organised an interdisciplinary technological conference with lawyers, medics, scientists and another representatives of public life who talked about euthanasia from the point of view of law, medicine, sociology, doctrine or anthropology. Currently, our experts are working on a comprehensive technological monograph on euthanasia, which we plan to print this academic year.

A kid is not a “medical waste”
As the Ordo Iuris Institute, from the very beginning of our existence, we have consistently fought for the lives of unborn children killed in the barbarian abortion process. We have written about our abortion activities many times. Today, however, I would like to focus on another aspects of our fight against the civilization of death. due to the fact that building a civilization of life is besides building public consciousness, that life starts with conception, and that is why from conception all man has his inalienable dignity, which sometimes even declared defenders of life forget.

As a consequence – although respective twelve miscarriages and dead births happen in Poland all year – very fewer parents decide to give their children a lost burial. Yet, the designation that man becomes human at the time of conception should relate to the knowing that the corpse of an unborn kid should besides be treated with due respect.

Unfortunately, there are not many parents today, but even worse, there are doctors and infirmary workers who have abortions, dead births and abortions. tiny bodies are sometimes treated as "medical waste", and sometimes parents even hear that the body is lost. The infirmary can give the broken parents a bloody handkerchief, claiming that this is their lost child. The ultimate Audit Office in 2020 found irregularities in the treatment of the corpses of dead and aborted children in more than half of the hospitals surveyed.

Officials, ceremony facilities and insurers besides have a problem with treating unborn children on equal terms with the unborn. Therefore, parents of lost children can always number on the support of Ordo Iuris.

The problem that people frequently face erstwhile they want to bury a dead unborn kid is the deficiency of information. Questions about procedures are frequently answered by infirmary workers and ceremony workers. This situation exacerbates the parents ’ trauma and makes it hard to grieve.

That is why we have published the first legal guide for parents of lost children in Poland, in which we answer circumstantial questions concerning parents: is the household entitled to a ceremony allowance, or is it required to registry death at the civilian position office, who is required to finance genetic investigation needed to find the sex of the child?

The guide is comprehensive, written in an accessible language and contains ready-made forms of applications, statements and proxies that may be needed in connection with the burial of the kid who died before birth. There are besides 2 legal analyses in the guide, which may importantly velocity up the examination.

In addition, we besides supply free legal assistance in case of difficulties or questions concerning the burial of a kid lost before birth. The support of Ordo Iuris lawyers has already respective times led to the fact that hospitals that originally refused to give their parents the body of a dead kid to a prenatal period of life have changed their decisions, allowing for a dignified burial. We besides respond to parental reports that insurers refuse to pay their benefits or policy money erstwhile the kid dies early in pregnancy. We are presently conducting 2 specified proceedings.

After our effective intervention, the court ordered the Social Insurance Institution to pay the ceremony allowance to the parents of the kid who died as a consequence of a miscarriage in the 10th week of pregnancy. Earlier, ZUS rejected the parents' application, who had to carry out genetic tests to find the sex of the kid and give it a name before burial. Officials claimed that the survey was not an expense incurred in organising the funeral. In another case, we have led to a change in the decision of a private insurer who, after receiving our pre-trial letter, paid out the money due to their parents.

We have besides participated in the work on a government bill that amends the provisions on the burial of children dead at the prenatal phase of life. As part of these activities, we have prepared a legal analysis that we have passed on to the government and discussed in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister. Our comments met with the affirmative reaction of the task promoters. Unfortunately, the outgoing government has not yet adopted the proposed provisions, and legislative work will most likely be abandoned due to the change of power.
