Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban called on voters Wednesday to reject major political parties in the upcoming elections to the European Union, criticising their failures in leadership. Additionally, he stated that Ukraine should never be allowed to join a block or NATO. Orban noted that the current "migration crisis" in Europe has reached an highly critical point.

"The dream of these European elections is to change leadership," said Orban to an audience of about 200 people. “If leadership turns out to be bad, they should be exchanged. It's so easy," he said.

The Hungarian leader, who has held office since 2010, pointed out that EU sanctions have failed to prevent the conflict in Ukraine. Referring to the frequent definition of him in the media as a close ally of Russian president Vladimir Putin, Orban said: “My parent is not happy about this.”

He stressed that Hungary's biggest concern was to avoid the redistribution of the common border with Russia and to argue Ukraine's membership of the EU and NATO. "Understand, you are in the buffer zone. The number of the home cannot be changed," he added.

Orban besides noted that now Ukraine is simply a protectorate dependent on Western funds and weapons, no longer a sovereign state.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán interviewed a French weekly ‘Le Point’, where he addressed Ukraine and its aspirations for membership of the European Union. Orban considers that it is not the right time for this decision at the moment, as Ukraine is not sufficiently prepared and the benefits to costs are uncertain. He stated that Ukraine is 1 of the most corrupt countries in the planet and does not meet the conditions for joining the EU. He besides stressed that Hungary, as a neighbour of Ukraine, has an in-depth cognition of the situation in that country, regardless of its opinion in Paris, Brussels or The Hague. Orban denied that Hungary vetoed all EU initiatives, claiming alternatively that they were not always acceptable.

The Prime Minister of Hungary considers that Ukraine's membership of the EU would impose on another associate States, forcing them to make more contributions to the EU budget. He pointed out that France would gotta contribute EUR 3.5 billion more each year than before. In addition, including the Ukrainian agricultural sector in the EU marketplace could harm agriculture in another countries.
