Chance or conflict?

I have late heard a message from 1 of the president's future officials that president Nawrocki has a very strong mandate. Nothing more wrong. We must not look unrealistically at a situation which at the minute looks like that if we presume that the presidential elections were a referendum of support for this or any another political option, it will turn out that the nation is divided in half. 50% support the current government coalition and 50% support the opposition.

Andrzej Derlatka

This means that both the President's mandate is weak and the government's mandate is weak. This means that both sides must compromise in order to exist, to carry out their tasks. It cannot be that 1 or the another side imposes its will. You gotta find areas where you can get along.

In my opinion, politics is the art of achieving what is possible. It is possible to agree, compromise in 3 areas that are most crucial to our nation.

National safety as a common ground

The first is the question of security. There seems to be no major controversy here, although there are differences about the pace of certain changes. It is simply a substance of national security, which includes both armed forces, defence of Poland and global security. This is the full safety complex of our nation. There's no difference. There were any hesitations at first, there were activities in the erstwhile government word scandalous, specified as attacks on Border defender officers, on soldiers, from certain individuals from the current government coalition. I hope that concludes it. Furthermore, from the statements of both the Prime Minister and the Minister of the Interior, they go a fewer steps further than the erstwhile government, today's opposition. advancement has been made in this area, especially border protection. It's a fundamental substance that shouldn't origin any controversy, but it does. I don't get it. Now, fortunately, I see the will to make a deal, a level of cooperation. This is shown by parliamentary committees, in which there are no major differences in the defence and safety of the country.

Prosperity of Poles – possible economical cooperation

The second area mentioned by the candidate, the current president of the elect, and which comes as an area of cooperation, is the prosperity of Poles. This is simply a question of the future, of the good future of the Polish people, and this is mainly the economical one. And in this area, I think you can get along. I don't see any major controversy about the opposition or the current government coalition.

Of course, the views of president Nawrocki, as he has already shown in the election campaign, are not entirely identical to, for example, the views of the PiS, who pushed him to the presidential position and supported him in the campaign. possibly they are more consistent with the views of the present Confederation. Nawrocks have a stronger national focus, sometimes even nationalistic. In directing the Institute of National Memory, he took actions that caused controversy, e.g. global irritations on the Polish-Israel line or with judaic environments.

Either way, these differences are not essential and do not block cooperation in the fields of economic, agriculture, global trade, logistics, etc. These are the spheres of understanding. There are no major problems here.

Justice – a field for constructive dialogue

The next issue is the justice system. This is besides an ambitious issue. Many cases that afraid the National Judicial Council, the position of judges, etc., were, in my opinion, ambitious. president Duda was inactive very delicate on this point, he did not let discussion, he rejected any possible compromises.

President Nawrocka doesn't have that luggage. He can look at things in a different way. It could be an area where you could get along. All the more so, since October 15, or since taking power, there has been a crucial change on the government side. Many areas have been relaxed. The government has come up with respective compromise solutions that may form the basis for discussion.

A good advice would be to make a consultative body that would make reforms of the judiciary, accepted by both Polish society and the European Union, on which much depends. Many cases are unresolved and the Union is treated as "in the course of resolution", which they remind us of all now and then. The fresh president will gotta take care of it.

Poland in Europe – national interest and EU community

If Poland wants to be in the European Union, and it looks like the nation wants it and appreciates the benefits of membership, the president must take this into account. The issue of an agreement with the Union is crucial, especially since we are faced with the beginning of a new, rather generous budget for Poland. Although, of course, the opposition will always think he could be better. Of course he could. But there are also competitors, and the money is limited.

I besides mentioned external matters here. There are respective elements that are strategical and which should be remembered. Poland is located in a very peculiar place – both geographically and geopolitically. This place has a immense work and requires a very thoughtful abroad policy.

I have already mentioned that Poland must act in accordance with the interests of the European Union, but at the same time it must be able to express its own national interests. Sometimes it may seem contradictory, but good diplomacy is precisely to be able to combine different, frequently conflicting interests in a coherent policy that serves the country.

In the close future Poland will gotta answer any key questions. First of all, how do we find ourselves in the context of a changing policy of the United States? Secondly: how do we put together relations with Germany and France, which are the dominant forces in the European Union? And third: how do we conduct policy towards the countries of Central and east Europe, including Ukraine, which is inactive at war?

These are questions that not only the government must answer, but besides the President. In the political strategy we have, the president plays an crucial function in abroad policy – not only as a symbol but besides as a real associate in global dialogue. The president is expected to represent Poland in a dignified, liable and effective way. And here's another thing: the powers of the fresh president.

The President's Competences in hard Times

== sync, corrected by elderman ==

President Nawrocki is facing very serious challenges. Not only due to the fact that the interior and external situation is complicated, but besides due to the fact that its mandate is limited. Expectations for him are enormous, but the possibilities of action depend on many factors. And that's why it's so crucial that he can work beyond divisions.

Poland needs stability, reason and work today. We request a policy that is not based on emotions, but on analysis, prediction and searching for real solutions. We request state policy, not organization politics.

Therefore, I want president Nawrock courage, wisdom and humility. Courage to make hard decisions, even erstwhile not popular. Wisdom to separate between matters crucial and trivial. And humility to perceive to those who think otherwise.

Because the president's not in charge. The president is from being for people. For all people.
