Oleśnica: parent and 10-year-old kid died under train wheels

The parent and her 10-year-old kid died on Friday 4 September around 2.50 p.m. at the crossing of the tracks in the area of Wiejska Street in Oleśnica. According to preliminary findings, the kid ran in front of an incoming train and a female tried to halt it. The circumstances of the tragedy are investigated by the police and the prosecution.

Tragedy at crossing the tracks

The accident occurred in the Lucien settlement, on a pedestrian crossing without light signals. The Krotoszyn-Jelcz-Laskowice relation train hit a female and a child. They both died instantly.

Police told the media that according to the first arrangement, the kid was on the tracks in front of an oncoming depot, and the parent followed him in an effort to halt them. Investigators presume it was an unfortunate accident. The final course of the event will be determined in the course of the proceedings.

Services explain circumstances

Fire department, police and rescue squad were sent to the site. The DA's here, too. The paramedics couldn't save the victims anymore. The engineer was sober.

About 120 people traveled on the train. According to the information provided by the service, no of the passengers were injured. The actions carried out are to explain all the circumstances of the tragedy, including the exact course of the parent and the kid entering the track.

It's the painful death of a parent and child. At the moment, respect for the dead and the peace of their loved ones are the most important.
