Elf is simply a dog that is simply a constant inspiration and close friend of the author, and in Polish literature for children a symbol of the immortal bond that may be between the accompanying animal and man. In his novels in the Elfa series Marcin Pałasz restores the dog's religion in people, and opens his eyes to a unique relationship with a dog.
