03-02-2025 Nowy Sącz we were co-organizers of the historical-educational session entitled “WHERE NOT WAR, IF NOT RECUPATION...” (== sync, corrected by elderman ==).
Today's gathering was initiated by Euro MP Arkadiusz Mularczyk PiS, who was the originator of the event. In his short speech he presented the current situation related to the implementation of the resolution of the Polish Parliament of 14-09-2022 concerning the efforts to get war reparations from Germany (www.sejm.gov.pl).
A friend of our GP Club, president of the Polish Historical Society Nowy Sącz Branch, Leszek Zakrzewski, who is co-author of the war failure study (www.gov.pl), specifically the part concerning the example of the demolition of the region town, Nowy Sącz. His investigation shows that as a consequence of the Second planet War, the number of fresh Sącz residents decreased by 1/3, 62% of the buildings were more or little destroyed and the establishments were robbed of their property.
Next, students of Maria Konopnicka advanced School in Nowy Sącz took the floor, who brought the audience closer to the location of the executions located in or around the city, specified as: railway embankment at the bridge via Dunajec, Biegonice, Trzetrzwina and Rdziostów, where the Germans were mass-killing Nowo Sąrczan.
A very breathtaking part of the session was the conversation, conducted by the host of the full event, another friend of our GP Club Kamil Olesiński president Sokół Sądniczna based in the Małopolska Cultural Centre "Sokół" which hosted the meeting, with a witness to the history, which is undoubtedly a frequent guest of our GP Club, Mrs Grażyna Kulig. She is simply a resident of Nowy Sącz from Koła, where her father was a commander of the Armed Forces Union – arrested by Germans and murdered in a prison at Kłackowska Street in Wrocław (place of execution of both Polish patriots murdered by Germans during the war and many Non-violent Soldiers shot by communist authorities there after 1945). Mrs. Grażyna is simply a individual endowed with many talents, who uses it to make professionally beautiful paintings and sculptures. She is besides highly sensitive, which the listeners may have felt listening to her poems. The next item was the introduction to the exhibition "Criminal Crimes (not)judged. Accounts with German perpetrators of planet War II crimes, which you gave to Dawid Golik from the Institute of National Memory in Krakow – 1 of 3 exhibitions available in the main building “Sokola” in the foyer of the Lucjan Lipiński Hall until 17 February 2025. another exhibitions include: prepared by the office of Mr Arkadiusz Mularczyk: “War losses in the territory of Nowo Sądecki during planet War II” and by the Museum of the Judicial Land: “Lost Museum Collections during planet War II”.
We think that specified a historical-educational session was very essential – especially for audiences, who were mostly students of New-Sądecki advanced schools. The largest hall in the MCK “Sokół” named after the friend Lucjan Lipiński has 450 seats and it must be admitted that almost all were occupied. Many people believe that the current youth is not curious in the past of Poland – many hours of silence in the area during speakers' speeches and besides the apparent emotion during Mrs Grażyna's communicative attest that "the relay of generations" will not be interrupted and there are adequate Polish patriots in each generation to last our beloved Homeland.
