New! Rainbow tram will go to the streets of Gdańsk

There will be a peculiar tram on Gdańsk tracks. It's peculiar due to the fact that his ceiling will adorn... a rainbow. The Rainbow Tram is an initiative of the LGBT Tolerado Association, the organizer of the 9th Tricity Equality March.

The squad will meet him on line nine. The date is not accidental, due to the fact that for the 9th time, the Tricity Equality March will pass the streets of Gdańsk.

“During the Tri-City Equality Days, which are now taking place in Gdańsk in various ways, we effort to show our solidarity with LGBTQIA+ and celebrate our diversity and community in Gdańsk”, says Monia Chabior, deputy president of Gdańsk for social improvement and equal treatment. – 1 of them is simply a rainbow tram, a rainbow nine, which will run between Strzeża and Stogów from Friday to Sunday.

– I am glad that this year, together with us, there is GAiT, which gave us a rainbow tram on line 9 – just like the ninth Tricity equality march – says Marta Magott, Vice president of the Board Association for LGBT+ Tolerado and Gdansk City Councillor.

The rainbow tram will go on the weekend

The rainbow tram will besides run on Saturday and Sunday, May 25-26.

– On the occasion of specified actions, all tens of thousands of LGBTQIA+ people who live in Gdańsk show respect and support, which they request all day – added Chabier.

Reality is changing, but LGBTQIA+ communities inactive do not have most fundamental rights.

– Building the visibility of the LGBTQIA+ community was always 1 of the basic tasks that we had before us. In a planet that is mostly heteronormative, the anticipation of loud and bold showing “we are here” is invaluable,” adds Magott. "We inactive have a large part of society, as well as a political class, that is unfavorable. We so want to direct our affirmative message to all people, encouraging openness to diversity and equality, which do not take anything distant from anyone, but enrich society. Hence annual, joyful equality marches, hence further educational and affirmation activities. This shows that our city is open, safe and accessible to everyone!
