I am distraught, angry and terrified that despite the change of power, unfortunately the current government continues the policy of the Law and Justice, said Franciszek Sterczewski, MP from KO during a protest organised in Solidarity Square in Gdańsk.

During a protest in Gdańsk, organised in Solidarity Square at the monument of the Victims of December ’70, associate of the Civic Coalition (KO), Franciszek Sterczewski, powerfully criticized the current government. His words caused a stir among the participants. Sterczewski did not cover his disappointment with the migration policy pursued by the coalition, which, he noted, continues the controversial actions of the erstwhile PiS government.

I am desperate, angry and terrified that despite the change of power, unfortunately the current government continues the policy of the Law and Justice. Thank you again so much for being here. This is very important. Hold tight, thank you very much," said Sterczewski.

Border protection priority

In consequence to the increasing migration crisis on the Polish-Belarusian border, Prime Minister Donald Tusk decided to reconstruct the buffer region on the east border. Tusk stressed that his government did not intend to agree to the uncontrolled influx of illegal migrants into Poland. He besides pointed out that border protection is simply a state work and that any available means would be utilized to guarantee security.

The Prime Minister said directly:

I know that this is excitable, besides from parts of the public, people and communities active in helping with the border. But the task of the state is to defend and defend the border.

Tusk pointed out the request to keep the integrity of the border, even if this means controversial decisions. However, Tusk forgot his criticisms about erstwhile rulers during the campaign.
