The United Nations General Assembly elected Zimbabwe, Trinidad and Tobago, Portugal and Austria as fresh non-permanent members of the UN safety Council on Wednesday.
These countries will hold a two-year term, beginning on 1 January 2027 - the agency Reuters forwarded.
Portugal received 134 votes and Austria received 131. The rival Germany and Austria won 104 votes.
The vote for Asia's place for which Kyrgyzstan and the Philippines competed did not come to a decision due to the failure of either country to get the two-thirds majority required.
