On Wednesday, the Sejm passed an amendment to the alleged Windmill Act, which, among others, reduces the minimum distance of wind turbines from buildings to 500 m. The Act besides includes provisions on energy price frost by the end of the year. The freezing is now in force until the end of September.
After the amendment of the Wind Energy Investment Act and any another laws 231 Members voted foragainst 193, 1 abstention. Now the amendment will go to the Senate.
Electricity prices frozen for longer
Members supported the amendments which would origin the mechanics for freezing household electricity prices this year will besides be extended for the 4th quarter. At present electricity customers in households can benefit from a frozen price of up to 30 September 500 PLN per MWh net.
By the end of July, alleged vendors must submit to President of the Energy Regulatory Office Conclusions with tariff proposals that would apply after 30 September.

The current tariffs of the sellers of the office - PGE Turnover, Enei, Taurona Sales, Energi Turnover and Taurona Sales of GZE - for customers in the G group, or households, are PLN 622.8 per MWh net. The difference between the tariff price and the statutoryly frozen price is paid by the State to the sellers.
According to fresh ERO data, Poland is almost 16.4 million customers in tariff group G. More than 10 million benefit from tariffs and more than 6 million benefit from free marketplace offers.
Parliament in favour of amending the Windmill Act
The amendment of the Windmill Act besides introduces a strategy of benefits for residents of wind farms.
The main nonsubjective of the fresh government is to abolish the 10H rule introduced in 2016 and establish 500 m as a minimum distance of windmills from buildings. It is presently 700 metres.

The minimum distance of the turbine from the national park border is 1500 m, from circumstantial Natura 2000 areas to 500 m. This regulation is intended to cover the neighbourhoods of Natura 2000 areas set up to defend bats and birds.

Decision of the National Media Council and the National Media Council
During Wednesday voting The Sejm rejected the National Broadcasting Council report from the activity in 2024 with information on the basic problems of radio and television, and information on the activities of the National Media Council in 2024.
250 MPs voted against, 178 against, and 2 abstained.
247 Members voted against, 6, 176 abstentions.

The National Council shall study annually to the Sejm, the legislature and the president on its activities for the erstwhile year. According to the Broadcasting Act, in case the study is rejected by the Sejm and the legislature The word of office of all members of the National Council shall expire within 14 days., counted since the date of the last resolution. The word of office of the National Council shall not expire unless confirmed by the president of the Republic of Poland.
Last year the Sejm besides rejected the KRRiT study and information on the activities of the National Media Council in 2023.
