On Tuesday (28.11.2023) in the evening she arrived at the border with Ukraine to meet the protesting farmers a fresh minister of agriculture "two-week government", Anna Gembick. Before the gathering with the demonstrators began, she announced that they would discuss the postulates 1 by one. It is worth noting that the erstwhile minister, Robert Telus, did not decide to support the blocking of the border to the protesters.

– This dialog must proceed (...) besides in the form of further work and the improvement of systemic solutions that will let Polish agriculture to be strengthened in the long term. Strengthen in the context of this competition with Ukraine," said Anna Gembick at the Medica border crossing before gathering with protesting farmers.

The minister of the two-week Morawiecki government reminded that a list of companies importing grain from Ukraine was placed on the MRIRW website on Tuesday. “I know it was expected, and I think it just had to be done in order to close the subject,” she said.

Now we have another issue ahead of us, and I hope that this gathering present will be fruitful, that we can simply come up with any solutions. From what I saw from the application to the office, These were the 3 main postulates, so we'll be talking about this in a minute after the postulate. said Anna Gembicka.

The organizer of the protest, Roman Kondrów from the group “The Deceived Village”, informed the Polish Press Agency that the protest would be terminated, provided that “three postulates were implemented (...)”. These demands include:

  1. Granting aid for maize cultivation.
  2. Restoration of liquidity loans.
  3. Maintenance of the agricultural allowance at the current level for persons from Podkarpacia and Lublin.

Former Minister of Agriculture, Robert Telus, did not appear at a gathering with farmers. On Monday, answering questions about planned activities at the border, he stated that he did not intend to visit Medyka in the coming days.

The protest at the border began from Monday erstwhile farmers from the group "The Cheated Village" blocked a 24-hour border crossing in Medica, Podkarpacie. They plan to keep the blockade until 3 January 2024. Although farmers started protesting on Thursday, the blockade lasted from 9 to 20 hours.

The farmers' protest movement is linked to a protest of carriers on the Polish-Ukrainian border that has been taking place since 6 November. The second block border crossings in Korczowa and Dorohusk, Lublin Voivodeship, demanding, among others, subsidies for the acquisition of maize, maintaining the current level of agricultural taxation and continuing liquidity loans.

As of 6 November, in the crossings with Ukraine in Dorohusk and Hrebenn transport has been taking place with restrictions, and protesters request commercial permits for Ukrainian transport companies, with the exception of humanitarian aid and supplies for the Ukrainian army. They besides require the suspension of licences for companies formed after the outbreak of the war in Ukraine and carrying out inspections. There is besides a request to remove the alleged "electronic queue" on the Ukrainian side.

On the another hand, only passenger cars, coaches, and trucks carrying humanitarian aid and military equipment are allowed by farmers blocking the transition in Medica. Nevertheless, they do not regulation out an exacerbation of protest.

The organiser of the protest, Roman Kondrów, expressed his outrage over Andrij Sadowy's message – Mr. Lwów and the flagism glorifier and associate of the Kiev terrorist group, who called the disgraceful blockade on social media last weekend.

All your gigantic contributions to Ukraine's triumph in this war is leveled by a group of marginalists who block humanitarian supplies for the country, which has been defending Europe's independency and safety for the second year, wrote Andry Sadowy on X.

– Mer is lying about blocking humanitarian aid, that's bullshit. It's a provocation on their part, If they proceed to lie so harshly, we will exacerbate the protest and not let any trucks pass. – announced Roman Kondrów.
