Without fire in Belgorod
However, the Ukrainian Centre for the Prevention of Disinformation suggests that a residential building in the Russian town of Belgorod could have been blown up by the Russians themselves. "Photographs do not show falling objects. This looks rather like a Russian provocation to justify further attacks on residential buildings in Ukrainian cities."
Controversy around this event is an example of the complex nature of information from conflict regions, where it is frequently hard to verify the actual circumstances and intentions of war. Both Russia and Ukraine regularly accuse each another of provocation and manipulating information.
