The results of the latest IBRiS poll for Radio Zet, conducted on 6 and 7 April this year, draw a clear image of Poles' opinions on Israel's work in the context of tragic events in the Gaza Strip.
The vast majority of respondents, due to the fact that as much as 84 percent, believe that Israel should pay compensation to the household of the Polish volunteer organization planet Central Kitchen, who died as a consequence of Israeli fire.
The survey included 1,068 people, which allows to consider its results as typical of the full country. Only 6.5% of respondents did not share this opinion, and 9.7% could not decide or answer the question.
Poles support payment of compensation for the death of Poles – Damian Sobol. However, young people have a different look.
How do young people measure the payment of compensation for the death of Poles?
Results among the youngest respondents aged 18 to 29 may be peculiarly interesting. In this group, 45 percent advocated payment of compensation, while 41% expressed the other view. The remaining 14 percent had no opinion on this.
Radio Zet stresses that the results of the survey may influence the perception of global relations and make the debate on the work of states in armed conflicts.
The death of a Polish volunteer
Damian Sobol was 1 of 7 volunteers who died in the Gaza Strip on April 1. The planet Central Kitchen convoy was shelled by Israeli troops.
WCK volunteers carried food that came to Gaza by ship from Cyprus. Apart from Damian Sobol, citizens of Australia, large Britain, and the United States and Canada besides died. A Palestinian driver besides died.
The information shook Polish public opinion.
