The Spectrum rocket of the German company Isar Aerospace successfully launched on Saturday late in the evening from Andoey's Norwegian cosmodrome, on its second test flight.
"This is the beginning of a fresh era" said German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.
The first launch last March failed - after about 30 seconds, the rocket fell into the sea and exploded.
The second, this time a successful attempt, followed respective months of delays due to method and safety problems.
The rocket reached an altitude of about 100 kilometres above the Earth's surface little than 4 minutes after launch and the alleged Karman line, the contractual boundary between the atmosphere of the Earth and space.
