Norway extends its support for NATO's air defence and rocket defence strategy in Poland until summer. The Norwegian air defence units of NASAMS will stay stationed in Rzeszów to defend key supply routes to and from Ukraine.
Defense Minister Tore O. Sandvik besides visited this week Norwegian Armed Forces in Poland. He met with soldiers there who defend NATO airspace and safe supplies for Ukraine. He besides talked about closer defence cooperation with his Polish counterpart.

Norway extends its air defence mission in Poland
– Our air defence strategy in Poland contributes to the safety of Europe and ensures that the essential civilian and military materials scope Ukraine," said the Minister of Defence of Norway, Tore O. Sandvik.
Sandvik informed his Polish counterpart, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, about the decision of the Norwegian government during his visit to Poland on Monday.
The Polish Minister of Defence expressed his gratitude for Norwegian support. Sandvik besides discussed defence cooperation with the national defence minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamish, as well as the issue of further support for Ukraine.
– Poland played a key function in supporting Ukraine. Strengthening Norwegian-Polish cooperation is strengthening NATO," Sandvik stressed.
Europe's safety priority
Since December Norway has transferred about 100 soldiers, F-35 fighters and NASAMS Air defence Systems to security of airspace over the airport in Rzeszów as part of the integrated air and rocket defence of NATO.
