An different start: 1st legislature of the School of Representation and Social Participation

"Unordinary" – specified an adjective the participants and participants defined the 1st legislature of the School of Representation and Social Participation held on 7-8 March 2025. It is hard to disagree with this – the event brought together extraordinary people and took place in a unique atmosphere. It was an intense gathering full of applicable clues, a immense dose of knowledge, fresh acquaintances and possible collaborations. There was besides an exchange of experience, common support and motivation for action.

During the reunion, participants had the chance to perceive to speeches by experts who shared their expertise and experience in advocacy and the legislative process at various levels:
Hubert Taładaj – ‘National documenting. The main legal regulations and strategy of the legislative process in Poland’;

– Marcin Święcicki – "Legal process and advocacy in practice";

Tomasz Schimanek – "Review of the most crucial legal acts for the 3rd sector in Poland";

Jan Truszczyński – "Legal regulation and advocacy at European level".

During the reunion, participants besides had the chance to improve their rhetorical, argumentative and negotiation skills. Another crucial component of the programme was the work on the Individual improvement Plan, which will become a signpost for them for the next months.

The logistics, content and another activities were carried out by the Schuman Foundation squad of King Bartnick, Joanna Jendrośka and Rafał Dymek.

The School of Representation and Social Participation is simply a task aimed at 168 representatives and representatives from at least 40 NGOs operating in various areas of public policies specified as education, the labour market, social inclusion and wellness protection. The initiative includes organisations from the Mazowieckie and Śląskie voivodship, and its aim is to strengthen the competence of the ombudsman and participating participants.

Project implements National NGO Federation (OFOP) in cooperation with Robert Schuman Polish Foundation, Centre for the improvement of Social Initiatives CRIS and 3rd Foundation.org.
