Independent.pl: "Naïve or cheating?" Czarnek about Polish-German past textbook
date:24 August 2024 Editor: Anna

Przemysław Czarnek reviewed the textbook "Europe. Our History" allowed in July by MEN to survey in schools. "Someone who has the thought of printing specified a textbook does not full realize what historical policy is, or simply betrays the Polish state's right and national interest. Unfortunately, I am betting on the latter, looking at who is in charge of us - said the erstwhile Minister of Education and Science.
The thought of the Handbook “Europe. Our history" was an thought from 2006, brought forward by Frank Walter Steinmeier, then German abroad Minister. 2 years later the German proposal was picked up by the head of the Polish MFA Radosław Sikorski.

- I'm sorry. I got 1 erstwhile I was a minister. But in the end I threw it in the trash - admitted the politician of the Law and Justice. He pointed out that it is impossible to talk about the past and politics of Poland and Germany together and compare the bombing of Dresden to the death camps in Auschwitz.

If individual thinks that the policy of the Polish State may be in line with the policy of the German State, which has been covering up its direct responsibility for decades in unleashing the madness of planet War II, the Holocaust, killing six million citizens of the Polish State, bombing Polish cities and levelling Warsaw, it is simply wrong," said Przemysław Czarnek.
As Germany has pointed out for decades, among others with their cinematography, they effort to convince the world, and it is very effective that the war was a Nazi invasion.

“The same Germans who whitewash themselves are expected to compose a past textbook together with Poles today?” he asked rhetorically.
Someone who had the thought of printing specified a textbook does not full realize what historical policy is, is naive, or simply betrays the Polish state's right and national interest. Unfortunately, I'm betting on the another one, looking at who's in charge.
He stressed.

Przemysław Czarnek besides referred to 1 passage from the textbook. - The book asks if you'd alternatively go to a restaurant or a movie or die for your country. This is said to young people who are convinced that they gotta strive only for the alleged happiness - said the politician.

Today he learns young people of selfishness and then asks them if you would give your life for your nation. Asking specified a question is simply a nightmare and this textbook is allowed into schools, something extraordinary
said Przemysław Czarnek.
