Germany and France want the Community to gain fresh tools to defend its marketplace from the actions of 3rd countries. Beijing has no uncertainty who this initiative concerns. The Chinese Ministry of Commerce criticised Berlin and Paris' appeal – government media forwarded on Wednesday. According to the Beijing authorities, protectionism will not contribute to the competitiveness of the European economy.
