W Germany's question of the acquisition of combat aircraft for Luftwaffe has always been sensitive. Our home manufacture exerted quite a few force to block the acquisition of the only available, but foreign, 5th generation aircraft, i.e.[F-35](https://defence24.pl/industrial/another-Polish-f-35). In return, Eurofighter was lobbyed for further purchases produced locally. It yet became part of the Kwadryga program and purchased 38 Tranche 4 machines in 2020 and bought 20 more Tranche 5 machines in 2024. These aircraft were intended to let the German Air Force to "pertain" until the next generation of German-French-Spanish combat aircraft was put into service, together with associated FCAS systems (SCAF).
