We have 2 trade Sundays ahead of Christmas. Stores will open on 14 and 21 December. For the first time in history, however, the public holidays will be Christmas Eve, which means that we will not then store "last minute".

Polish Council of Commercial Centres (PRCH) recommends in its Communication to usage upcoming trade Sundays as an alternate to Saturdays. He advises to avoid rush hour, which on weekends in buying malls usually takes afternoons
New public vacation
The Council besides suggests that customers rethink their access to shops and indicates that in peak hours in the largest buying malls, public transport may prove to be faster than a car. In addition, it is besides worth checking the beginning hours – many objects extend the working time, allowing purchases to be bought late in the evening.

PRCH recalls that Christmas Eve (24 December) for the first time in past will be a public holiday. That day, the shops will be closed. The Council encourages customers not to leave buying at the last minute and to usage the availability of shops throughout the pre-Christmas, December weekends.
Trade ban on Sunday. What is provided for in the Act?
Introductory Act ban on trade on Sundays entered into force on 1 March 2018. Since 2020, the trade ban does not apply only on 7 Sundays per year: last Sundays of January, April, June and August, Sundays before Easter, and after the amendment besides on 3 consecutive Sundays before Christmas.
The Law limiting trade on Sundays provides for catalog of 32 exemptions. The ban does not include postal activities if the revenues from this activity represent at least 40% of the revenues from the sale of the facility. In addition, it does not apply in pastry shops, ice cream shops, liquid fuel stations, florists, press shops or cafes.

On 1 February, a fresh came into force providing for the establishment of a day off on 24 December for all employees, including employees of commercial establishments, for whom so far - in accordance with the Act on Limiting Trade on Sundays and holidays - Christmas Eve was a working day until 14 p.m. The fresh besides foresees that in December a trade individual will not be able to work more than 2 Sundays.
At the end of December, president Andrzej Duda decided to mention the Free Christmas Eve Act to the Constitutional Court in the follow-up control procedure. The President's reservations concern the introduction of a third, additional Sunday working in December for trade workers.
