The body of the Polish soldier was found close Białowieża, close the border with Belarus.
The household and relatives of the deceased soldier received intellectual support. This information was confirmed by Major Błażej Łukaszewski, spokesperson for the Second Amendment of Task Group Podlasie.
“We profoundly regret to inform you that 1 of the soldiers was killed by the Safe Podlasie Operation tonight. The circumstances of the tragic event are explained by the Military Gendarmery under the supervision of the Public Prosecutor’s Office,” wrote the Operations Command message on Platform X.
The tragedy occurred in the area of Operation “Safe Podlasie”, which was launched on 1 August 2024 as a consequence to migratory force on the east border of Poland.
“The main task of soldiers of the Polish Army active in the operation is to aid keep the tightness of the state border. The operation replaced existing operations in the east region of the country, specified as Operation “Grif” and the advanced training presence “Rengraw” that formed the Military Task Force of the Podlasie” – explained the Podlaskie Provincial Office.
