Russian comedians from the duo “Wowan” and “Lexus”, celebrated for cheating politicians around the world, this time they took Radosław Sikorski as a target. Dressed up as erstwhile Ukrainian president Petr Poroshenko, they had a conversation with him, the fragments of which went online and were immediately utilized by Cremovian propaganda. Although the MFA spokesperson has underestimated the situation, the net is already moving out of comments. Is it the Minister's fault, or is it the gag that got out of hand?

The duo of comedians "Wowan" and "Lexus", or Vladimir Kuzniecov and Alexey Stoliarov, gained fame by screwing global politicians, from British officials to American Senators. This time on their list was Radosław Sikorski, who thought he was talking to the erstwhile president of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko. erstwhile the gag came out, the question of who's laughing here last, remains open.

The Minister, unaware that she was talking to a fake Poroshenko, raised respective controversial topics, including training Ukrainian soldiers, possible sending troops to Ukraine, as well as possible Poland's engagement in NATO and reaction to rocket attacks. And even though no highly secret information came up, the fact that he got caught so easily, made him the object of ridicule.

‘Wowan’ and ‘Lexus’ – Screw Masters

It's not the first time Russian comedians have ambushed politicians. They had previously spoken with French president Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson. Their methods are simple: they impersonate known characters, drag politicians to talks, and then uncover recordings that become a feed for Russian media.

In the case of Sikorski, the comedians hit the point due to the fact that the head of the MFA he was open adequate to share his views on strategical issues, including NATO and Ukraine.

Was that careless? Definitely, but we must admit that Sikorski did not say anything that could actually harm the safety of Poland. Nevertheless, the ease with which he was drawn into the conversation shows that even experienced politicians can be caught online by Russian wit.

Sikorski let the Russians talk to Poroshenko.

How is that different from Duda?

The fact that Sikorski explains to the Russians the complexities of Ukraine's entry into the EU and NATO, the interior politics of Poland and atomic Sharing – that is not what Duda did.
Duda realized – Sikorski did not.

MFA spokesperson underestimates the situation

A press spokesperson for the Ministry of abroad Affairs, Paweł Wroński, rapidly reacted to the media sound around the conversation. According to him, the full issue is "drash propaganda", which aims to ridicule the Polish minister and make confusion on the global stage. Wronski emphasized that Sikorski did not say anything controversial and that specified screws can be easy manipulated.

However, this does not change the fact that the conversation has been recorded, and its passages revolve around Russian media, where they are utilized for propaganda purposes. This surely does not improve Sikorski's image, which already becomes an object of ridicule, not only in Poland but abroad.

Radosław Sikorski spoke to Russian "comists", reasoning his interviewer was Petro Poroshenko. Now I am curious to hear comments from those who have so uncompromisingly judged the situation with the President.

Sikorski and Poroshenko – What was it about?

The conversation concerned, among others, the possible engagement of Poland in the Ukrainian-Russian conflict. Sikorski spoke about training Ukrainian soldiers and discussed possible military support for Ukraine. The minister besides raised the subject of the Nord Stream gas pipeline, stating that the Americans knew about the possible gas pipeline bombing, but did not respond. Although these statements are not peculiarly shocking in themselves, the fact that they have fallen into conversation with a false Poroshenko makes the full situation comical.

Did Radosław Sikorski realize he was talking to comedians? It's hard to say, but 1 thing is for sure: the Russians managed to make this conversation a spectacle that sparked a grin on the faces of many people, although surely not a minister.

What does that mean?

The full situation shows how easy politicians can fall prey to false conversations and manipulation. For Sikorski, this is most likely a lesson for the future – not all telephone call is what it seems, even if the interviewer sounds familiar. possibly the minister next time will look more closely at who's on the another side of the line.

One thing is certain: Sikorski, although not in serious trouble, must now face the wave of criticisms and jokes that flooded the media. So possibly the next time he answers the telephone from Poroshenko, he will ask himself 1 question: “What if it’s Wwan and Lexus again?”
