A fresh public opinion survey conducted on behalf of TVP brings unexpected results. The leader of erstwhile rankings, Rafał Trzaskowski, noted a crucial decrease in support. These changes coincided with a series of presidential debates held on 11-14 April.
Although he had the opportunity, Trzaskowski did not participate in 2 debates organised by tv Republika. The first 1 was held on 11 April in Koński – even before the debate planned by the KO candidate himself. In the second, which took place on 14 April, his absence was symbolically marked – Marek Jakubiak brought to the studio a cardboard figure of politician.
New figures: Ipsos measures voters' moods
The survey was carried out on 14 and 16 April and the vast majority of responses were collected after all the debates had been concluded. The poll results show clear shuffling on the political stage.
The support for Rafał Trzaskowski fell from 36 percent to 28 percent, which is the largest decrease among all candidates. His main competitor, Karol Nawrocki, gained 1 percent point, reaching 22 percent. Thus the difference between candidates decreased from 15 to just 6 points.
Other candidates: inheritances and increases
The 3rd place included Sławomir Mentzen, who besides lost support – from 17 percent to 15 percent. Meanwhile, respective another candidates gained. Szymon Hołownia improved the score by 1 point and achieved 7%. Adrian Zandberg advanced to 6% (an increase of 3 points) and Magdalena Biejat reached 4%, an increase of 2 percent points.
Grzegorz Braun and Krzysztof Stanowski stay at 4 and 3 percent respectively. Marek Jakubiak, Artur Bartoszewicz and Joanna Senyszyn were supported at 1 percent. On the another hand, Marek Woch and Maciej Maciak were not indicated by any of the respondents.
Many inactive Undecided
As many as 8 percent of the respondents could not indicate who they would vote for in the first circular of elections. This is simply a large group that can decide the final form of the presidential race.
Second round: Trzaskowski continues to lead
Although Rafal Trzaskowski's ratings have fallen, he inactive remains the leader in a possible second round. According to Ipsos data, it would gain 50% of the vote. Karol Nawrocki could number on 43 percent, and 7 percent of the respondents inactive do not know who he would support.
