They call it the most dangerous place in the world. Even scientists are not allowed here

The island of Ilha da Queimada Grande is simply a spectacularly beautiful land on which, contrary to appearances, a luxury hotel has not yet been built. Even environmentalists stay distant from this place, although there are no uncertainty that many unique plant species are increasing there. Reason? Snakes are to blame.
Of the many beautiful places in the world, the island of Ilha da Queimada Grande is among those on whom the human ft dares not stand. Located close to 140 km from the coast of Sao Paulo, the land is over 40 hectares of land, which is inhabited entirely by snakes. Reptiles crawling around this unique corner are 1 of the most venomous species. Better not disturb their peace.

The most dangerous island in the world. Even scientists can't access it.
Rainforests and phenomenal stone formations - this kind of attraction offers Ilha da Queimada Grande besides called Snake Island. However, the individual species of vegetation increasing in these areas have not yet been studied, as the only inhabitants of the island are very possessive erstwhile it comes to their entry. In 2008 a comprehensive survey was carried out, which allowed to establish that there was about 2000-4000 gold viper surviving on the island. And while this number is rather advanced in relation to the island, it is truly nothing on a global scale, which is why lancetidae were included in the IUCN Red List as a critically endangered species.

As we read in the publication of the magazine "Smithsonian" the island of snakes was created due to the emergence in sea level, which occurred around 11,000 years ago, which led Ilha da Queimada Grande to be isolated from the mainland (Brazil). The snakes that now inhabit this isolated corner are created by evolution that their situation has forced them to do.

The golden lancetnik is an island species which seems to be closest to the landform of Bothrops jararaca and has now been isolated from this species

- explains prof. Stephen P. Mackesy, specializing in evolution, ecology and toxicology at the Faculty of Biological Sciences of the University of North Colorado, quoted by the magazine "Discover". Interestingly, to any degree the scientist refutes the claim that snake - island vipers are an highly dangerous species.

Nothing I've seen suggests that a golden lancetous viper poses a greater threat to humans than many another species of viper of the genus Bothrops

- explains Mackesy. Nevertheless, even if individual wants to decide to visit Ilha da Queimada Grande, they must forget about it - otherwise they will be subject to Brazilian authorities.

Snake Island has been banned. It's about tourist safety and reptile protection.
So far there has never been a bite of a man by a golden viper. any scientists nevertheless claim that in the event of possible admission to this kind of situation, the effects can be truly serious: muscle paralysis, heart attack, and at worst death. To avoid possible misfortune, Brazilian authorities decided to "close" the island. Only scientists have access (at a safe distance) to it on boats - but under no circumstances can leave them.
