President Karol Nawrocki has intensified political activity since his triumph in the presidential election. The last fewer weeks have brought a series of controversial decisions: refusal to sign the judges' nominations, refusal to nominate officers for the SKW and the ABW officers, and loud participation in the independency March.

Professor Szymon Ossowski interprets this in analysis for "Rzeczpospolita" as the implementation of the "permanent campaign" strategy - the concept of American writer and political advisor Sidney Blumenthal, which assumes to keep run activity besides between the elections. According to Ossowski Nawrocka, he pursues a double political goal.

Firstly, he seeks to change the government in the upcoming parliamentary elections - specifically to make Donald Tusk halt being Prime Minister and not be able to build another coalition as in 2023. Secondly, the president wants to take over the key function of the leader of the Polish right, utilizing increasing support for the Confederacy and the weakening position of the Law and Justice.

Right-wing Leadership Game

Analyst indicates that weakening of the PiS would strengthen Nawrocki's position. The president could then build a coalition of right-wing parties - analogous to the function of Tusk on the left side of the political scene.

Nawrocki won the presidential election mainly thanks to the voices of younger voters, especially men from smaller towns who constitute the Confederate electorate. This group has reversed the current trend - over the last decade younger people have shown higher voter attendance than older generations.

The polls show clear trends on the right: The Confederacy grows stronger (partly thanks to Nawrocki's election success), the PiS loses support and the Confederacy of the Polish Crown Grzegorz Braun has been taking the votes of Jarosław Kaczyński for months.

Paradoxically, after the failure of Rafał Trzaskowski in the presidential election, support for the Civic Coalition increased.

New Hope Problems

Meanwhile, another right-wing party, fresh Hope Sławomir Mentzen (part of the Confederacy since 2019), faces a possible deletion from the registry of political parties. The State Election Commission applied to the territory Court in Warsaw after uncovering irregularities in the party's accounts for 2024. The court's decision is on November 21.

Party vice-president Krzysztof Rzoniec told "Fact": "We are ready for different scenarios. What may seem to any to be a crisis is an chance for others." He added, "The organization is inactive functioning and will function at advanced speeds."
