President Karol Nawrocki appointed 21 officers of the Polish Army on 13 August 2026 as general and admiral degrees. The acts will be presented on 15 August during the parade on the occasion of the Polish Army. This is simply a staff decision of real importance for the command of the army and the safety of the state.
Decision of the Head of the Armed Forces
President Karol Nawrocki, as head of the Armed Forces of Poland, appointed twenty-one officers of the Polish Army General and Admiral degrees. The President's office stated that the decision was taken on the basis of Article 134(5) of the Polish Constitution, at the request of the Minister of National Defence.
According to information provided by the head of the MON Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, who cited the origin material from the queue, presidential nominations were accepted and Prime Minister Donald Tusk countersigned them. In a average country, defence requires specified cooperation of the institutions. A political dispute cannot teardrop the chain of command.
Advances cover the most crucial areas of the army
Six brigade generals were promoted to the rank of Major General of the Polish Army. Among these groups are Mariusz Chmielewski, commander of the Cyberspace defence Army, Tomasz Jatczak, Air Force Inspector, and Rafał Kowalik, commander of the North-East Multinational Division. These are not decorative functions. Cybersecurity, aviation and the north-eastern flank are present areas on which the real resilience of Poland depends.
Rear Admiral Piotr Sikora, Deputy Commander of Operational Forces Types, was appointed to the rank of Deputy Admiral of the Polish Army. Commander Artur Kołaczyński, commander of the 8th Coast Defence Fleet, advanced to the rank of Rear Admiral. The Baltic Sea is present an area of pressure, critical infrastructure and service competition. Poland cannot treat the Navy as an addition to the land army.
Thirteen fresh Brigadier Generals
The most many group of promotions concerns the rank of Brigadier General. Among those appointed are officers from MON, General Staff, Armed Forces Agency, Territorial Defence Forces, Cyberspace defence Forces, Logistics and Linear Units. This shows that the army needs both field commanders, people from planning, infrastructure and shopping.
This group included, among others, Colonel Grzegorz Faka of the MON Personnel Department, Colonel Krzysztof Klin of the Armed Forces Support Office, Colonel Dariusz Kwiatkowski of the Cyberspace defence Army, Colonel Piotr Paluch of the Armed Forces Agency and Colonel Renart Skrzypczak, commander of the 1st Warsaw Armored Brigade. With specified a set of names, you can see that the nominations include both the state's base and the individuals to stand on the front line in the event of a crisis.
Defiled and Memory 1920
Acts of appointment will be presented on 15 August during the parade. Programme of celebrations of the Polish Army 2026 On that day, the President's participation in the mass for the Fatherland, the solemn change of the station before the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the parade on the Warsaw Wisłostrad.
It's not just a state setting. On August 15, he combines the modern army with the memory of the conflict of Warsaw. so Polish Army Day 2026 only makes sense if there is simply a real defence of the country. Uniforms, banners and general nominations have weight if they lead to a more efficient army.
Poland needs command, not theatre
The general promotion is an honor, but first it is simply a responsibility. Poland lies between German economical dominance, Russian imperialism and the chaos of European policy. In specified a situation, the national state must have its own army, its own command and its own will to defend itself. Without it, sovereignty remains only a word of speech.
Therefore, nominations must be judged not by the prism of salon sympathy, but by effectiveness. Will promoted officers strengthen planning, logistics, cyber defense, armored troops and the Navy? Will the strategy require hard results? fresh means of combat will besides appear during this year's celebration, including drones presented at the Polish Army Festival. However, equipment without people capable of command remains only a show.
The nominations of 13 August are so more than a staff message. It is simply a test whether Polish institutions can act together in defence matters without blurring responsibility. Poles have the right to anticipate a fit army, rooted in national memory and ready to defend their security. That's the rate.
