Karol Nawrocki will take charge at the Presidential Palace in August. He has already announced that he will go to Washington for his first abroad visit. For now, he is completing his cabinet, accepting congratulations from planet leaders and eliciting euphoria among his supporters.
"I'll tell you 1 thing. This president will not only shake the Polish political scene. Karol Nawrocki will affect the destiny of the world!", "I think K. Nawrocki has a chance to be a real statesman" – these are just 2 random X opinions.
The head of the MFA Radosław Sikorski has already announced that his ministry will "support the president-elect in his mission". However, before the second circular of the presidential election he appealed to Poles:
"I beg you. The president represents Poland abroad. Before he meets individual abroad, like me, foreigners get a resume of the interviewer. I do not want them to read the biography of Karol Nawrocki as the highest typical of Poland".
His words echoed widely. This is why we ask diplomats and politicians how the influence of "Nawrock's life story" can influence the reception of the fresh president of Poland abroad. How can his way into global salons even look? And what we can anticipate from him in abroad policy.
Diplomat about Nawrock: This will undoubtedly not give him a good atmosphere before meeting
Jan Wojciech Piekarski, erstwhile ambassador, b. the head of the Diplomatic Protocol of the Ministry of abroad Affairs, lecturer and author of textbooks on diplomatic protocol, tells how it can look in practice.
Minister Sikorski said it very nicely. Any interviewer who meets with the president of the Republic of Poland will get his biography note on the desk. And this will not be information from the encyclopedia, but based on the evaluations and accounts of the local institution, i.e. people who follow everything that was written about Nawrock in the Polish press – he says in an interview with the Temat.
– This will no uncertainty make him feel good before the meeting. Of course, no 1 will tell him that, but specified reports translate into a level of assurance in man," he adds.
The Diplomat besides believes that this may besides affect the issue of invitations themselves.
– specified as Viktor Orbán or Andrej Babiš in the Czech Republic, if he comes to power, they will meet him. But it can be expected that those who will not gotta meet him, and who will be from political camps more liberal-democratic, will be more restrained with invitations.
How does he feel about president Nawrocki entering the planet of large global politics?
– Everything indicates that he is simply a man who can be decently shaped. I'm certain he won't make any mistakes about behavior, savoir-vivre, an external presentation. As for this, I am completely calm about him and his wife. It'll be fake, but with each other's visit, he'll get a certain routine. In this respect he will surely full master the situation – he answers.
– But he will proceed to be followed by a long résumé shadow. any will make it clear to him by not coming into close contact, that is, not inviting or visiting. And those who are from the same camp will welcome him as a typical of the country that strengthens this camp," adds Jan Wojciech Piekarski.
Polish politicians asked abroad about Nawrocki
As we hear, Polish politicians in Brussels were in the election run asked about Karol Nawrocki.
– The Western planet was trembling for Romania. There were large concerns about her in Brussels. But they trusted Poland completely that it is impossible for Trzaskowski not to win against Nawrock. And then it turns out it's the another way around. I keep answering questions, "What happened to you? How can a man with specified a past be president of Poland?" says 1 of them.
We hear that even in Japan they asked who the man who is moving for the presidential election was: – They know the facts abroad. The media was writing about it. That there was a boxer, a hooligan, a gangster half-world. There's always questions about that.
Talks are bitter.
– Back in the day, everyone from the east was staring at us. We were a guide and a model. But that's changed. Romania is now a fresh model from east Europe. These are very good players. And now I am ashamed – says 1 of the Polish politicians in Brussels.
But emotion and discontent with election results are 1 thing. And diplomacy is the second. She's in charge of her rights.
Euro MP: I think this is how they will approach Karol Nawrocki
– In preparation for our president's visit abroad, everyone will read information about him. It can't be erased. But if we were to look at the planet in this way, no 1 would talk to Putin or China," notes Elżbieta Łukacijewska, MEP.
As he says, global policy does not offend people's elections. "Of course, in the EU many expected to win Rafal Trzaskowski. This did not happen and all politician respects the choice of Poles. In politics, people work with those who have won, they search agreement with them, and they believe that agreement. I think this is how they will approach Karol Nawrocki – he comments on the subject.
He besides draws attention to the transformation of Nawrocki.
– From individual who had no right to win, for six months the staff made a man who changed before our eyes. He spoke what the majority expected, showing at the same time any strength and community. He didn't say "me," he said "we." Looking at this change, I hope – and hopefully so – that he will be a partner for the government in matters crucial to Poland and Poles and a partner for those who are close to values: freedom, democracy, human rights, security, improvement – he says.
Diplomat: No sensations should be expected after the presidential elections in Poland
That's why any people are very much reducing national emotions around Nawrocki.
– He's the president of our country. Our tastes don't substance here. That was the social verdict, whether anyone likes it or not. We shouldn't care about the interior situation. Let us be careful – we hear careful appeals.
One politician says, "Everyone will know about his past. But they must accept and respect that this is the president of the largest country of Central and east Europe, which was erstwhile an absolute model for everyone else.
No one, as the diplomats point out, will show this in diplomatic relations.
– Of course, all interviewer of the president will have an insight into who is who. If this is going to happen, of course they will, there will be no major problem. There are different situations in today's diplomacy. And so no sensations should be expected after the presidential elections in Poland. Any fears will be explained before the visit itself," comments Grzegorz Dziemidowicz, erstwhile ambassador to Egypt, Sudan and Greece.
He thinks Charles Nawrocki can handle diplomacy.
– He's not an uneducated man. He has a life in global affairs due to the fact that he served as the head of the IPN and was manager of the planet War II Museum. He can decision in the global world. He was in the White House. If abroad visits are arranged, they will follow diplomatic standards," he says in an interview with the subject.
What to anticipate from Nawrock?
In the presidential campaign, many accused Nawrocki of riding the planet as the head of IPN, but there is no political, global experience. present he has a gathering with the president of the United States and with the Prime Minister of Italy.
Today, much about his approach to global policy is said by his replies to the congratulations that followed the presidential election from the world.
Donald Trump replied, "A strong alliance with the US, as well as a partnership based on close cooperation are my priorities".
Head of the EC, Ursuli von der Leyen: "Our European heritage must always be based on common trust, respect for national sovereignty and Christian values".
And the president of Ukraine wrote about a further partnership: "I believe that this requires not only good dialog but besides solutions to past historical issues."
What's next? What do you anticipate from him?
– It's a mystery. That's a large question mark. I cannot tell whether he will change, whether he will change his view on any matter, or make it," commented Prof. Roman Kuźniar, global advisor to erstwhile president Bronisław Komorowski, erstwhile manager of the Polish Institute of global Affairs and the Diplomatic Academy of the MFA.
He notes that there was very small global policy in the Nawrocki campaign. It wasn't very marked. – These were mainly anti-EU tirades. Those were passwords. As far as the EU and the east are concerned, contrary to the Polish state. As far as America is concerned, this is simply a writing line that relies on the half-seat that we are the vassal of the USA," he says.
Politologist: surely there will be large distrust
It's known that the U.S. will be the easiest. What difficulties can he have?
Jan Wojciech Piekarski assumes that Karol Nawrocki may have hard diplomatic contacts with those he did not talk to the warmest during the campaign.
– I mean contacts with the German administration, especially with the Chancellor. And contact with president Zelenski. It's hard to tell what kind of relation he might have with Macro, but I think he's gonna have a tough time with the UK left-wing prime minister. Nor do I anticipate the government to urge to the King of large Britain that he make contact at this level. I think we can forget about monarchs – the diplomat believes.
Roman Kuźniar comments: "There is simply a surprise abroad, what Poles did due to the fact that it is hard to believe. But it will not be that there will be any ostracism towards the president of Poland. There will surely be quite a few mistrust, due to the fact that it will be a typical of the PiS option, which has been very badly included in the European policy of the last decade.
He believes that if Nawrocki continues this line, he will not be the desired partner and individual who inspires trust. He besides points out that the barrier can be the worldview of Nawrocki, as with the president of the Law and Justice. – Jarosław Kaczyński does not realize abroad policy. His view is simply a strong filter. If Nawrocki wants to learn this policy, there's a field. But we don't know that – she notes.
