Duda officially responds
When asked to support Karol Nawrocki, the president replied:
I already had my election campaign. I believe that the President-in-Office should not publically support candidates at election rallies. But I don't hide my preferences. If we are looking at election programs, Karol Nawrocki is simply a candidate who is most suited to these values.
The cold has prevailed before
This is not the first time, however, erstwhile the media indicate that Andrzej Duda has no plans to aid Nawrocki. As early as February, “Rzeczpospolita” reported that Karol Nawrocki would not be able to number on the President's support.
It was then written that Nawrocki's candidacy met with a cool reception at the Presidential Palace, and the resident did not plan to travel around the country to support Nawrocki, even though he expected this Law and Justice. Although Nawrocki had previously hosted the Presidential Palace as head of the Institute of National Memory, he did not gain the full support of president Duda.
Close co-workers of the president stressed that Andrzej Duda did not intend to formally support any candidate in the upcoming elections. 1 of them even said:
He's not a strong candidate. He makes a number of mistakes, he does bad during public appearances, he does bad during live conversations in unwritten media, he lacks knowledge, he learns slowly. The abortion message exposed all Nawrocki's weaknesses. It's hard to believe his victory.
Law and Justice Elections and Their Doubts
The latest poll shows that even PiS voters believe that in any situations Mateusz Morawiecki could be a better president than Karol Nawrocki. Morawiecki has the advantage, especially in dealing with economical crises.
The survey besides asked which policies supported by the Law and Justice would best deal with global situations specified as war or migrant influx. In the event of a possible attack on Poland, Nawrocki and Morawiecki, they obtained 11% of the indications, and 9% of the respondents indicated Mariusz Błaszczak. Among the PiS voters, nearly a 4th believes Nawrocki would do best and 18% points to Morawiecki.
In another question, the respondents assessed who would best deal with the possible consequences of Ukraine's defeat in the Russian invasion and influx of refugees. 11% of respondents pointed to Morawiecki, and the same on Nawrocki. 7% think Błaszczak would do best in this situation. 38% said that no of the politicians could handle this challenge. Among the PiS voters, Morawiecki enjoyed more support (22%) than Nawrocki (20%).

In the 3rd question, the poll examined which politicians would best handle the function of president during the large economical crisis in Europe. 19% of those polled indicated Morawiecki, 9% Nawrocki, and 4% Błaszczak. Among the PiS voters, 42% considered Morawiecki to be the best presidential candidate in this situation, 18% indicated Nawrocki and 3% Błaszczak.
The last question was on which policy would best deal as president in a situation of influx of migrants from outside Europe. 12% of those surveyed indicated Morawiecki, 10% Nawrocki, and 6% Błaszczak. Among PiS voters, Nawrocki (21%) enjoyed more support than Morawiecki (19%).
