Karol Nawrocki announced changes in the value of pensions, according to which all year the benefit would increase by PLN 150. In August, the bill is to go to the Sejm.

The President-elect is expected to present his own draft bill on the valorisation of pensions. According to the HR, the intent of the changes is to defend benefits from failure of value due to inflation. Valorization would increase the lowest benefit to PLN 2028.91 gross.

This means that pensioners who receive lower benefits, thanks to Nawrocki's proposal, would receive more money than due to the valorisation of the current rules. Those who have higher benefits could lose some.

Change since March?

It is worth recalling that pensions are increased by inflation rates and at least 20% of real wage increases from the erstwhile year. Valorisation takes place in March. According to current forecasts, valorisation is expected to be 4.9%, which would mean an increase of PLN 92.07.

During the election campaign, Nawrocki announced the submission of a bill just after taking office as President. If the Sejm accepts this change, the fresh rules would come into force in March 2026.
