"Note, crucial message" - so its latest entry addressed to residents of Gdynia begins the Navy. In the coming days, they may be amazed by the sound of gunshots. However, there is no reason to be concerned.
An entry on the social media of the Navy appeared on Tuesday morning.
"We inform you from the deck Lightning ORP will be shot with salute cannons" - we read. It will scope them in 2 terms:
- 1 May – around 12:00 (3 gunshots)
- May 3 – around 11:30 (21 shots)
The formation adds in the announcement that shooting hours may change.

ORP Lightning is Polish destroyer, 1 of 2 built ships Grom type, entered service in the Navy in 1937. The ship participated in planet War II from the first to last days of fighting in Europe, operating in the Atlantic, North Sea and the Mediterranean.
As of May 1, 1976, it was moored in Port Gdynia as a museum ship and naval typical ship inactive in service.
