– I hope that from the chaos in social life we can extract the goals that will unite us. (...) I besides hope that we will return to the richness of the teaching of St John Paul II, Blessed Fr George and Blessed Primate Wyszynski – says Małgorzata Żaryn, initiator and 1 of the organizers of the National Papal March.
This year we celebrate the 40th anniversary of the martyrdom of Fr Jerzy. How do you mention that time and what is in your memory and heart?
From that time on, I remembered the atmosphere of freedom, unity and a common goal, which at that time could not be expressed publically in communism. It was a different strategy and another values. I remember that there was a very distinct good from evil, and there was no hatred of another man. But in my heart, the message which this year is the motto of our National Papal March – the evil of good victory. And as it turned out, that good prevailed spiritually, in identity and in the dimension of national heritage, although it seemed that evil had killed good. I besides remember a dissonance: teaching Fr. George and his message to win evil with good, and on tv programs and propaganda statements by Jerzy Urban, a press spokesman. There was clearly the action of the evil spirit.
Fr Jerzy's message “win with good” inactive inspires me very much and I would like it to express itself in our social and political reality, which is difficult. I think that erstwhile we perceive to Fr George's sermon, we will see that we are fighting for fact and good and value today.
Many may have had a sense of powerlessness and the advantage of evil at that time, but the hope was most likely besides the words of John Paul II "that good might grow out of this death." We're most likely seeing these fruits today. 1 of them is the National Papal March, which arose from the request for unity in the face of attacks on the Pope. What hope do you have with this event that has brought together so many Poles?
Thank you for this question, due to the fact that in our head the first Papal March, how this year's event had a building dimension alternatively than reactive. And we hope that these Marches will make John Paul II's teaching alive again in our hearts.
Remember, a drop digs a rock. John Paul II returned us freedom, truth, in a sense morality, so we hope that we will not superficially focus on emotions and cremation, but we will draw from the vast heritage of his teaching, which includes social relations, family, body theology, national identity, meaning of history, patriotic attitudes – fighting and uncompromising and love for the homeland... I hope that we will begin to return to this rich accomplishment and reflect on 2 another patrons of this March: Blessed Fr Jerzy and Blessed Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński.
Primate Wyszyński spoke so much about homeland, patriotism, theology of the nation, which is the same natural community as the family. It is crucial that we see this today.
Fr Jerzy emphasized that 1 must love man, not hatred man, but besides defend the fact in order to lead man to salvation. He left the wealth of the homily Holy Masses for Homeland, evidence to the service of men of work, medical environments, showing the fact about workers, not as a proletariat, as the power of the time moved them, but people who request the Church and besides profoundly in their hearts have Christian truth. I hope that we besides will experience the needs of religion and the Church, surviving in truth, the request for good education with religion in schools.
I besides hope that from the chaos in social life we will be able to extract the goals that will unite us and the organization differences will become secondary. Of course, it is crucial that they be due to the fact that we live in a free democratic country.
Besides, specified a beautiful fruit of this National Papal March is the taking of the spiritual Adoption of the Conception Child, which means a very concrete dimension of saving the lives of many children.
Thank you for talking to me.
