– The right to life is not only a substance of worldview, it is not only a spiritual right, but it is simply a human right," recalled John Paul II in Krakow in 1997. National Day of Life is simply a call for reflection on the value of human life and family. It is besides a call for solidarity to defend the future of our nation and homeland.

The National Day of Life, which we celebrate on March 24, is an chance to reflect on the work of the state authorities, the public and the public for protecting and building respect for human life, especially the smallest, the weakest and the most devoted to the aid of others – we read in the 2004 Parliamentary Resolution, which established this holiday.

This day besides reminds us of the request to reflect on the social commitment to support families, to advance parenting, as well as the concern for the weakest, seniors and children, including those in the prenatal phase of development. The second are frequently exposed to death in abortion if they are suspected of genetic defects which are or may be the origin of illness or disability in the future.

The right to life and opposition to killing children in abortion is not just a substance of religion or belief. Pope John Paul II clearly pointed out that abortion strikes the household and the future of society and nation.

The quality of civilization is measured by respect for its weakest members. No another assessment criteria – stated Prof. Jérôme Lejeune, a prominent French scientist, pediatrician, geneticist who discovered an anomaly liable for Down syndrome.

Prof. Lejeune, considering the ostracism of parts of the medical environment and parts of society, pointed out that for thousands of years medicine has been fighting for human life and health, fighting against diseases and death.

Any reversal of this order would completely change medicine. It was never our work to give judgment, but to effort to alleviate pain – he said.

As a man and doctor, he continually defended the lives and wellness of his small patients, children with trisomy 21. In any countries, specified as Iceland, children with Down syndrome or only suspected disability are killed in abortion.

The National Day of Life is so a time to build public awareness and sensitise to the needs of families, children and people with disabilities. 1 crucial initiative is the conference: Tal for Life – in defence of women, which takes place in the Polish Parliament. Its organizer is the Parliamentary Life and household squad and the Coalition for Life and Family. The National Day of Life precedes the Day of the Feast of Life, which falls on March 25 on the celebration of the Annunciation of the Lord. The Church clearly reminds us of the sanctity of all man's life.

No circumstance, no purpose, no law in the planet will always be able to make a righteous act that in itself is wicked, due to the fact that it opposes God's Law, written in the heart of all man – wrote John Paul II in the encyclical Evangelium vitae.
