The deceased 35 years ago Karol Zbyszewski was 1 of the most penetrating analysts of Polish past and politics. His books are seldom renewed and so incorrect – frequently forgotten. Today, however, we can get to know the best of them in episodes, in the form of podcasts available on YouTube. Just “goggle”!
"German from the front and from the back" is simply a work written by Zbyszewski as his doctoral thesis. The professorate of Vilnius University awarded the title for it, as it was not sufficiently bearing references and origin material. However, the author felt that it was more crucial for his work to be good at reading than that in the form of a treaty gathering all methodological criteria it was covered by the dust of a library magazine. And indeed – this work is large in reading, although frequently shocking and depressing, and the most excellent of the experts of the subject besides consider it to be the material literature of the arches – reliable, wise and very necessary.
"German from the front and from the back" tells not so much about the large Pole of the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries, but about the last years of the First Republic. What strikes the book the most is the astonishing (and – frightening!) similarity of a large part of political elite before the quarters of the millennium to those we have in Poland today.
No serious historian has undermined the image emerging from Zbyszewski's book. With a full array of examples, it states that there were many environments ready to give their lives in defence of Poland. And there were even military forces able to effectively stand in the way of invaders. The author reminds us that in 1792, we had 60,000 well-exposed, though poorly experienced, troops under our arms. And we had top class commanders specified as Tadeusz Kościuszko or Józef Poniatowski. Although 105 1000 Russians were attacked by this army, as Zbyszewski proves – even though it was alternatively poor, with the morale low and under the command of the most pathetic of the cacapian generals. Despite being a little many party, we were able to accomplish tactical success under the Greens. In Zbyszewski's opinion, the emotions of the Polish society worked so that if then announced a common decision – from 60 1000 to 180 1000 from day to day. Although we had Prussia on our backs, in the news of their Polish arousal, the king preferred to await within his country. So everything spoke for the large Polish chance. The chance that Stanislaw August and the Camaryla of scum equally capable of reasoning only about their own interests and individual comforts.
The full book Zbyszewski is simply a description of specified situations – Poland, where there are many traitors and mediocrity, but there is besides a large adequate number of specified Poles, which could not only save you, but even lift them to truly advanced heights. So what killed Poland? First of all – serving abroad interests “canals at the manger”. An agent of hostile powers planted in key centres of the power apparatus. Creatures destroying all Polish chances. At the request of Berlin and Petersburg giving up everything that gave Poland strength. Strictly as in the last fewer months, their modern counterparts have resigned from the construction of the Central Communication Port, container terminals of Polish seaports, atomic power plants, Odra sailways. The scum, which in the 18th century led to the erasure of Poland from the map of Europe, at the request of external leaders decided to radically reduce Polish defence capacity. More precisely, as the ruling Poland present by 85% reduced orders by the erstwhile government placed in the Polish arms industry.
"German from the front and from the back" is simply a large proof that a nation, in a adequate proportion to the patriotic and capable of making sacrifices, can be chained and thrown into the slave's function for generations. 1 thing is adequate – the authorities on abroad services. A German or Russian agent acting as a government! Karol Zbyszewski's work is simply a large proof that specified rulers can trample on all ambitions, squander all chances, the country they run leads to a state of utmost weakness and powerlessness. By killing our homeland from the 18th century these had already prepared jobs – comfortable and safe sockets in abroad courts. They served strangers, they had Poland for nothing, for her killing they received pay – so the final could not be different. yet Poland – they killed.
Let's learn from history. She truly repeats herself sometimes. Sometimes – with a frighteningly bright resemblance!
