The president of the United States was the first to make a comment on this issue on social media, declaring that the conversation lasted an hr and was “very good”. He stressed that "we are on the right track." The leader of Ukraine then took the level on platform X.
"I had a positive, very factual and frank conversation with the president of the United States Donald Trump. I thanked him for the good and productive start of the work of Ukrainian and American delegation to Jeddah on 11 March — this gathering helped importantly in the quest to end the war. We agreed that Ukraine and the United States should proceed to work together to accomplish a real end to the war and lasting peace. We believe that, together with America, president Trump and under American leadership, lasting peace can be achieved this year," said Volodymyr Zelenski.
The president of Ukraine stressed that Donald Trump told him the details of his Tuesday conversation with Vladimir Putin. "One of the first steps towards the end of the war could be to end attacks on energy infrastructure and another civilian infrastructure. I supported this step, and Ukraine confirmed that we are ready to implement it," wrote Zelenski.
"The US organization besides proposed unconditional ceasefire on the front line, and Ukraine besides accepted this proposal. We'll keep working to make it happen. We believe that specified steps are essential in order to make the chance to prepare a comprehensive peace agreement during the ceasefire," we read further in a communication made available by the Ukrainian President.
