Stanisława Leszczyńska during planet War II, in February 1943 she was arrested with her daughter and 2 sons by Gestapo and imprisoned in the German Auschwitz- Auschwitz concentration camp. Under inhuman conditions, the camp helped women in their motherhood. The births she received were carried out in the barracks, on the oven, in tragic sanitary conditions – among dirt, vermin and rats. She sometimes worked day and night, and fellow prisoners called her parent and Angel.
The German camp doctor, Josef Mengel, refused to kill the newborns, answering: “No, never. Children must not be killed." She continued in prayer and besides organized common services.
She took about 3,000 births. no of the children or mothers died during childbirth and no infections were reported. Unfortunately, only 30 of them survived until the camp was released.
Stanisław Leszczyńska and her 3 children (including Henryk Leszczyński) survived the concentration camp.
