Most Poles do not want migrants. The poll leaves no illusions

One Essential Question

The question asked was: Poland, like another associate States of the European Union, is obliged to accept migrants, which is due to the solidarity mechanics of the EU migration pact.Are you personally in favour or against Poland accepting migrants?

The opinion24 survey for RMF FM was conducted on 10-13 February on a typical group of 1002 adult Polish residents. The survey was carried out by telephone, computer-assisted interviews.

75% of the survey participants spoke negatively about receiving migrants, of which 51% powerfully opposed this solution, with 24% being "more than against". There were 25% supporters of the admission of migrants, but only 5% expressed strong support. On the another hand, 5% of respondents had no opinion on this.

The biggest support for the admission of migrants was observed among people over the age of 60 – 22% were in favour, including 5% definitely, and 17% alternatively supported this idea.

In the another age groups, the results were akin – 21% of those aged 18-29 and 20% of those surveyed in the scope of 30-39 were positive. It was concluded that negative responses prevail in all generations.

Answers and Political Sympathy

Among organization voters, the opinions were almost divided – 44% supported the admission of migrants, and 43% opposed. A akin distribution occurred among supporters of the Civic Coalition, where 48% were in favour and 46% against.

The majority of law and justice voters and the Confederation argue the admission of migrants – in both groups the percent of negative responses is 93%.

Among fresh Left supporters, 42% support the admission of migrants, but there are more votes against (53%). A akin situation occurs in the electorate of the 3rd Way, where 32% are in favour, but 62% are against.
