The command of Russian armed forces in Ukraine began to massively enroll missing soldiers in the category of deserters, determined by the Committee of Investigation. This practice was peculiarly intensified in this year.
The families of soldiers considered missing are inactive paid cash benefits. In the event of desertion, they receive nothing from the State.
Since the start of the war in Ukraine, more than 40,000 complaints have been received to president Vladimir Putin.
By mass writing cases of desertion, officers effort to cover up the facts of illegal murders for drunkenness, refusal to obey orders, paying alleged racket for command or individual aversion.
The actual numbers of Russian soldiers missing in Ukraine are hard to determine. The Ukrainian task “I Want to Find Out” informed in early 2024 that it received over 84 1000 reports from relatives of missing Russian soldiers.
