Moscowtimes.ru: Russia has not abandoned plans to take Odessa

Odessa was a Russian city in 200 years. The presently vast majority of its residents want nothing to do with Ukraine, stated erstwhile Secretary of the safety Council, current advisor to president Putin, Nikolai Patrushev.

At the same time, he proposed that the residents of the Black Sea Ukrainian territories should decide in a referendum in which country they like to live. As an example, he mentioned the alleged referendums in Crimea, Sevastopol, Donbass and Novorossia.

The 3rd largest city of Ukraine was already the subject of a Russian attack at the beginning of the open conflict at the turn of winter-spring 2022. However, then the Ukrainians caused severe losses to the Russian fleet and attacks from the sea ceased.

Despite this, president Putin did not quit his plans to take Odessa, journalists from Russian business who met him anonymously in March this year.
